Got in the car yesterday, started it up and a pop up message appeared "Maintenance required, please book in" or something like that
Car has 1800 miles, I have had it for the last 300.
The message tells me nothing more, just that it needs maintenance. Anyone know how to work out what it actually needs, or how to get it to tell me?

Hopefully this isnt a dealer visit, cant afford a day off currently.

Was there a miles/days number displayed and if so does it tally with the "Service due in" information?
On this screen mine is showing the number of days that correlates to a year after my car was first switched on and connected to the battery the week before it's build was finished.
As mine was being stored by Lotus for a while the days remaining don't match my pick up date anniversary so I'm just assuming the service reminder wasn't reset on delivery when I picked it up.

Unfortunately not. No miles/days, just the notice saying Maintenance required.
There is no correlation between the alert and the Vehicle Health alerts/notifications

On a related note, does anyone know if Lotus Specialists can diagnose the Emeira I4, or does it have to go to a Dealer. I have a good specialist near to me(less than 5 miles) but until now I have only known him do Elises and older types. Will call him tomorrow, but wondered if others new the answer already

I'm presuming it's the message below you're getting, if so it is, as Nick says above, related to the service being "due". I'm getting it now on my i4 and the service indicator has 0 days remaining. As such it was obviously one of the cars built this time last year and then stored until they had resolved the type approval issues, and I'm guessing your car is in the same boat (I'd expect your car's VIN has 'P' in the 10th position indicating a MY23 car). With getting the car new from Lotus at the end of March the 1 year service is obviously not due for a while yet so I'm basically just ignoring the message for now.

I had this on my V6 recently that was a customer cancelled order that I collected late Sept 23 to replace my first Emira due to electrical faults (wiring looms water ingress)
After about a month of the service overdue reminders I then had a amber warning triangle light come on. This was only cleared when I had the first service last week.
So don’t be too alarmed if you get this warning light come on due to, what the car thinks is an overdue service.

It maybe this. Not checked the VIN, but looking at the "Service Due In" it does say 26days, yet was first registered March 24

How do you set the ignition to Mode I, when its just a start button?
Ignition Modes
To change the ignition mode from mode 0 (inactive, with the vehicle
unlocked and driver’s door opened), press the START/STOP ENGINE button WITHOUT depressing the clutch (manual powertrain vehicles) or brake pedal (automatic powertrain vehicles).

Ignition mode I (Convenience)
With the keyfob detected, a brief press on the START/STOP ENGINE to change to mode I from 0.

Ignition mode II (Active)
With the keyfob detected, a long press on the START/STOP ENGINE for around 5 seconds to change to ignition mode II from modes 0 or I.

My Cars VIN number has an "R" in the 10th position. Would that imply 2024 build, if "P" was 2023 ?

My Car has an R in the 10th position and it was built 1st November 2023.

The R denotes the Model year, in this case 2024, rather than build year.

Cheers
Either way, car booked in with Lotus for them to look at and work out whats going on. Unfortunately not for another 3.5 weeks, as they are booked up and I am busy when they are initially avaialble.
Maybe I'll get the new S/W updates too :)
