more Emira Art - this time DV....

Thanks @Eagle7, sometimes the updates are a bit incremental so I'm glad the gradual evolution is still interesting to sse.
Current progress is just AMAZING.

Painting dark colours with reflections such as these are probably 10/10 on a difficulty level. Hats off as it looks fabulous so far!

If Lotus were savvy, they would commission a set of original art to hang in the HQ Musuem as an Emira tribute..
Well isn't that a great idea! 🤣 Of course I'd be up for that and the current series featuring the 6 FE colours would celebrate the genesis of the Emira in very fitting way. Nice one @EspritGuy 👍

Thank you and, yes, you are spot on about dark colours - less forgiving to paint, and it is tricky to capture the darkness and colour intensity of something like Dark Verdant.

Hurry up, we need to lock in configs soon and want to know how DV looks 🤣
I feel your pain! I'm still committed to DV despite only ever seeing a 3"disc of it - can't even get a date when the plan-forms will arrive at my dealer, but I'm feeling a lot of love for DV right now!

This is OUTSTANDING. Really excellent work.

I plan to buy some full size prints from you once I get the garage finished. I'll PM you about it at a later date.
Thanks, much appreciated, drop me a note whenever - and would love to see photos of your garage - proper man cave in mind?!

...after too long a break (life getting in the way) we're off again.

You can see the progression here, from very rudimentary base coats, to blended bodywork tones and finally reflected clouds and highlights. There is a weird kind of alchemy that happens when the final touches go on - the last 5% making 90% of the difference between flat and 3D form.

Amazing work, and that subtle reflection in the shadows, just 👌

Please DM me about the prints you have planned!

It's amazing how much adding highlights brings out the depth and dimension. Clearly you love what you do, it shows in your work.

These are just incredible! I cannot imagine how hard it is for Lotus to use a camera to take a picture of this car though!
As you or someone else (@TomE ?) recently said, I may beat them to it, and I'm not much faster than coastal erosion!

Love this. How did you get the carbon effect with the cloud.
Thanks, although I was not trying to create a carbon effect! Is that perhaps the light catching the weave of the canvas you are seeing?

I may be witnessing magic. I don’t know how you do those reflections, and contouring on the body panel. Quite remarkable. I’m in for a Seneca blue one, yellow calipers and the two tone wheels please 😬
