That picture of the interior, is that you having done all that?
Very brave man if it is, I get nervous changing a fuse.
I see you are in Surrey. There is a Lotus run being organised for Feb, that starts at Newlands Corner and ends at Goodwood for breakfast if you are interested. Take a look on SELOC for the details, or PM me and I'll get you added to the WhatsApp chat
No, That's a pic posted on this forum by an owner that was unlucky enough to suffer the main loom plug failure from water ingress, and Bell & Colvill stripped it out (as seen) to replace the looms.

As I said in my journal thread, fortunately, I inspected my looms/plug, and it was dry & clean, so I was able to just do a few mods to ensure I didn't end up in that place.

Forum member from Surrey, Jclem, was the owner, he ended up returning his car to Lotus and got some sort of a refund.

Here is the part of his thread where he posts the pic...

They should be replacing the loom that runs through the cockpit, and the front loom. It's the large plug joining these looms together that suffered water ingress when a couple of the holes in the swiss cheese line up, ie, poor/missing plug main seal, and the standard windshield drainage systtem being overwhelmed by heavy rain or washing with lots of water.
I think the fuse box fails when it's lid hasn't been correctly clipped on, and again, water runs over it due to the poor windshield drainage. The lid looks to me like it would be pretty waterproof so long as it's fully clipped on.
The Lotus fix is indeed just a rubber membrane that gets placed beneath the plastic-ware that 'should' stop any water getting on to these components (and others, like the heater resistor), and it looks like this should indeed fix the issue, albeit, a bit of a sticky plaster approach.
I did the innertube thing as additional protection because I was in there already, it wasn't hard, and it doesn't really have a downside. To be honest, it's probably not needed, I just prefer prevention to cure.

As I said, when stripped down to that degree (the interior), I'd be very conscious that it could go back together with new squeeks and rattles, and all manor of other annoying issues, so was just very keen to avoid even going there.

It may be that I worried unnecessarily.
Thanks Jon. I’ll see how it is when I get it back!
