All the bumpers that i saw had the tips already in before being fitted to the car. I didn`t look to see if any black pack ones had them but equally I don`t remember seeing any black ones. One of my fellow tour participants mentioned that the exhaust finishers are mounted to the bumper itself.
We saw a number of cars with the black pack roof but I didn't see any with the black exhaust finishers!
Thanks for the information. What were your thoughts on Magma? All the bumpers that i saw had the tips already in before being fitted to the car. I didn`t look to see if any black pack ones had them but equally I don`t remember seeing any black ones.
I need to go back again, sounds like i was walking around with my eyes closed. TBF i was just trying to see as many different colours i could while i had the opportunity.
Me, too! If left to my own devices I would have stood in front of the red and nimbus cars for the duration of the tour, weighing up interiors and wheels!TBF i was just trying to see as many different colours i could while i had the opportunity.
Personally, sorry i don`t like red at all Life would be boring if we all liked the same though! Thanks for the information. What were your thoughts on Magma?
Agreed, i almost need to go again and look at all the bits i wish i`d looked at. I might just do that when they hit proper production but, hopefully by then, they`ll be some decent press cars out there and plenty of photos.Me, too! If left to my own devices I would have stood in front of the red and nimbus cars for the duration of the tour, weighing up interiors and wheels!
Why didn’t you like the Magma can you explain what puts you off ……Personally, sorry i don`t like red at all Life would be boring if we all liked the same though!
But the colour in the factory under the lights it looked good. They should really release more up to date photos with the cars outside. There`s a few in the factory fully painted so it wouldn`t be too difficult
I wish i had a proper answer for you and appreciate this won`t help. But, i just don`t like red cars. Have never owned one and probably won`t.Why didn’t you like the Magma can you explain what puts you off ……
I think you're confusing us with Ipswich there....Come over make a few days of it, I mean Norwich is a complete shit hole but I'm sure you'll enjoy the tour.
Biggest question is "Why can't you just post some photos of the actual colors on the Lotus Instagram account?"I am attending the tour on Monday so let me know if anyone has any questions they would like me to ask.
That will definitely be asked in fact I think we all agree that is the No1 Question.Biggest question is "Why can't you just post some photos of the actual colors on the Lotus Instagram account?"
That smacks of more power later on.....Manual. From memory of Wednesday's tour, 4 ratios swopped out from the diesel Avensis gearbox. Some machining work also done to accommodate a part - was it the gearbox external oil cooler?
#forthestartermotorPretty sure they've always modded the gearbox in that manner for the Evora's, i don't believe this is anything new or related to handling more power at all.

Or better acceleration with the existing power. Lower gear ratios will help that and make the car feel faster. That smacks of more power later on.....
That's the thing with any metallic paint. The metal flakes reflect the light which gives it that great look, BUT it also reflects the color frequencies of the light source. Sunlight has everything in it so colors are true, but night lighting like fluorescent, sodium vapor, mercury vapor lights don't have all the frequencies, and they can change the appearance of colors. Sodium and mercury vapor bulbs are used in street lights and big parking lot lighting. They're typically missing the warm colors of the spectrum so you get a lot of blue-ish frequencies. So ummm… what if I don’t like the magma red when they finally release official vehicle photos? Do I have any recourse on my $10,000 deposit?
The reason I’m a tad nervous is that my folks have just pre-ordered a cardinal red Mercedes… presumably a lot like our magma red (dark, multi-layered, gold fleck in sunlight). I noticed on the Mercedes forums this comment:
”Cardinal can look brownish or rootbeer color at night under certain light, my best friend bought his wife a cardinal red GLE and he(and she) both hate it.”
Maybe I’m just feeling antsy…

Mercury vapor is very common in street lights and is more white but has somewhat of a colder look; the warm frequencies are missing.

Sodium vapor has that orange-ish light, but here's a shot showing how major cities are starting to switch over to LED lights which give a better representation of daylight. The shot below shows a street in L.A. after partial conversion to LED street lights.

Here's a link to a very good article discussing light color frequencies and its effect on film makers because of how it changes the appearance of colors.
Why Hollywood Will Never Look the Same Again on Film: LEDs Hit the Streets of LA & NY
After Michael Mann set out to direct Collateral, the story's setting moved from New York to Los Angeles. This decision was in part motivated by the unique visual presence of the city -- especially the way it looked at night. Mann shot a majority of the film in HD (this was 2004), feeling the...nofilmschool.com
These are under factory lighting which isn't exactly showroom lighting, and they look pretty darned good; very rich and premium looking.I’ve had a cardinal red Mercedes as well and didn’t like it. It doesn’t look like a premium colour (over the regular metallic paints).
I’m getting tempted by magma but Lotus…(takes deep breath)
