New M2

Went through the configuration today, ticked all the options seems alright value wise you get a lot of toys.

£71,860 OTR

Tempted.. waiting for reviews on the AMG Emira

I almost bought a new M2 Comp thinking it would be vaguely limited listening to my bmw rep.
Left and picked up a one year old and saved 12k lol

Haha

I sold my M4 Comp August 2021 while prices were sky high waiting for the Emira.

That was a bad move. I bought a cheap run around and really ache for something decent now.

If Lotus would actually give me some clue as to when I might see it that would help.

Is there an option to improve exterior design and lose 200kg?

Looks nothing like current M3

Apart from the

Better power to wait ratio than AMG Emira and basically the same as the v6
It will still fee heavy, regardless of lap times.

If lotus raises prices then the manual m2 could be a good option. Looks awkward but will drive nice and the electronics are nice
Got on the waitlist yesterday. I am #5. Pricing should be around $70k to include carbon roof and seats. I like the adjustments you can make to the suspension, steering, brakes, and throttle.

Sure it will grow on me in time but it won’t win £200 at a beauty contest when passing “go” lol

Again carrying the trend of expensive middleweights like the A45, RS3 and Golf R. A few years ago £40k was an expensive car. How times have changed

We can all thank Ford for BMWs design albeit I would have the escort 😝👍

I've just been on the M2 configurator and the MANUAL is now 1000 POUNDS MORE expensive than the DCT! 🤪
Is this correct? It's the start of the end of manual if so and a slap accross the chops of enthusiasts

Having owned both a BMW DCT and ZF8 I'd never buy a manual again.

Does this mean I'm not an enthusiast? If so better have a word with all the super car and hyper car owners.

I hear you. But that's not really the point I was making.
More that if you now want manual you need to pay a premium for wanting to be an 'old school' enthusiast.
That's a mistake in my opinion. Folk will just go elsewhere. I wouldn't pay it out of principle.

Fair enough.

Frankly I think it's a miracle they even offer it.

Didn't offer it on the M3/4 in the UK but did elsewhere. Odd.

Very.
The M2 has been the old school M car offering for the last 5 years for sure.
This pricing difference seems to be a backwards step.
No doubt forewarns of the end of Manual transmission after this latest model

That's pretty hard to do considering it can't come with a DCT ;)
