Has anyone else noticed the exhaust tips on these final near production Emiras without the black pack? In the early cars, including the shadow gray one that toured the States, the exhaust finishers looked as you'd expect; They looked like a brushed kind of aluminum or polished chrome type thing... at least looking like metal. On the most recent photos of finished cars, the tips seem like a dull gray, almost plastic looking thing... like an unfinished product waiting for the cover to be slipped over it. Is that the finished product? Do they just not photograph well? I'd think, just like the black pack, the tips would match the finish of the LOTUS emblem. Does anyone have any info on this? Thanks in advance!!

Then I see a picture like this and I feel a little better... but what is the actual final product/finish?

Here's a pic I took of the SG roadshow car. These tips are missing the grooves on the inside and slits on the outside. Maybe base spec tips?

Here's a better pic of the final production FE non-bp exhaust finishers:

I think the finishers on all FE cars are titanium with BP being painted/coated black of course.

I am pretty sure they are suppose to be titanium. As per Emira specs

I've seen some clearly shinier and "polished" looking vs. the very flat, dull, almost plastic look of the ones above... that's what confuses me. The red one above is either polished, or stainless steel or something...

Someone had told me the initial tour car didn't have proper finishers... most of the completed cars I've seen have these shown on the DV car from Antwerp... I'm hoping they can be polished just a little.

The show cars had the repeated small holes in the inside of the finishers in the shape of the Lotus logo, something the design team pointed out as a neat little detail.

These look like they're missing that. Wonder if supply issues mean they've gone for something simpler and/or more off the shelf?

I too remember them making a point of emphasizing that.

Those emblem shaped holes can be seen in the Magma picture above if you look closely
Well spotted. That looks like one of the Lotus Driving Academy cars, so it would be good to confirm it's also on one or more of the LHD dealer demo cars too. It's not clear so far from the pictures I've seen.

Please don't tell me that's another thing we've lost, thought it was a fantastic bit of detailing!😤

Re-upping this thread as the day is (maybe) finally near.

My spec is set to arrive shortly... DV without black pack, as I wanted the painted roof and metallic LOTUS on the back, but really think the matte exhaust tips look "unfinished" to me. They should either be shinier, or maybe black. What options do I have? Are they easily removed/changed? Thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

We will be stocking black pack exhaust tips if interested.
Or you could remove the stock ones and paint them/have them painted.
They are easy to swap, just three bolts accessed from the backside with the diffuser removed.

Here's a pic of my Emira awaiting pick-up: I do think the tips could use some polishing to make them look less dull but hard to tell until I see it in person. You can definitely see the internal design is still there.

Rough price for black tips? How difficult is rear diffuser to remove?

In the UK, the tips are £56 GBP each plus sales tax. (from Lotus)

They are made of stainless steel, double skinned, with a flour blast finish (satin)
I bought a set to get Cerakoted in gold to match my other gold bits.

Decided to buy a set, so I could get the coating done, and confirm that I liked the colour/finish before committing to pulling the car apart.

I'm interested. There's nothing else on the car that's this galvanized steel color so having those finishers looks unfinished.
