Had the car full ppf'd this past week using Xpel Ultimate Fusion (hydrophobic topcoat - like ceramic in the film) -- the car looks really really good! I also used this opportunity to change out the chrome Lotus lettering to the GRP supplied black letters. Nice!

looks like glass. I like. Mine goes in March 17th for full coverage. My car is the same color so hoping for similar results.

The car has more orange peel look to paint than most cars. Should I get it wet sanded or have you guys or gals noticed that the paint looks like a mirror finish with the PPF?

Here in the MIdwest I received quates from $5500 to $7000. I ended up paying $6250 for full coverage Xpel PPF with ceramic coating for car and wheels.
I do not want to take a chance with such a dark color (dark verdant green)
I purchased a Tesla Plaid and just had the from covered up to the front doors. Someone threw rocks at my car and the area with PPF is fine, the doors, not so much.
Same coverage with my Evora (gray car) but never had a problem

I doubt wet sanding is necessary, mine was just paint corrected (polished) priro to ppf.

Mine is full body PPF xpel ultimate plus and fusion ceramic on top of that . I maintain ceramic by using g technique seelant every second wash .

Looks great -- one benefit of using Xpel Ultimate Fusion PPF is the inclusion of the hydrophobic topcoat - you shouldn't need to continually reapply a ceramic sealant, but I imagine it couldn't hurt!

This is just me and my ocd . I want my car to be like glass 100% of the time :D

These pics look great. Are all the installers still doing the little cut at the top of the air intakes?
Yes they do. On my way home from getting my PPF a giant tumbleweed the size of the car blew onto the road in front of me. I dodged it the best I could but it brushed up against the side of my car. When I got home and saw the cut above the intake my heart dropped a little until I checked the other side lol.

Ive been on the edge on getting ppf because of the lotus paint issues but I think I might just have to get it after seeing how good these pictures look. Is everyone getting paint correction before application? How's the factory paint?

My installer will do some paint correction before install. The film itself masks some of the more minor defects. My car had 1500 miles when purchased and had been poorly washed by the dealer so some correction is needed

Mine had a full ppf’d. Uk at Topaz. I’m pleased with it as it’s super easy to clean and it has already shown it’s worth deflecting a large stone just above the headlight

Mine did on both sides -- it's something my installer said we could improve if I didn't like it. I suspect it's everyone using a similar ppf template set.

For the last 2k miles I used an orbital buffer routinely on my car polishing out swirls from washing it....then I said enough was enough and went with the PPF. I never noticed any issue with the paint, no color ever on the pad, and no surface imperfection after polishing. PPF installer didn't mention anything after the job about paint either.
