True technically no safe funds. And I'm no financial advisor. But I'd say 5% is fair on stock market at moment if you took financial advice. I made 15% today alone. But I'm not going to say that's the normal!

Given you can expect roughly 10% per annum from things like an S&P500 index ETF, I don't think it is too outrageous to plonk the money into the market... the trick is to feed it in over months so that you average your cost. That, and have expectations of a multi-year investment horizon.
Alternatively, you can buy some crypto and see whether you end up with either a free car or a bunch of 'splaining to do!

I used to dabble and even copied trades from naked trader, some paid off some didn’t. Net net im probably equal to what I started off with. When you are up you think you can beat the system, then the next day you can’t. Longs, shorts , staggered investments, safe stocks, falling knife stocks tried them all. Guess I’m unlucky with the timing….
Yeah, I feel you. This is why I don't trade... I invest (and mostly in indexes). To paraphrase somebody far wiser than me, time in the market beats timing the market.

Scrap Heap Challenge..... on line group and forum.... books.... been doing 15 years now.... i do want to get the last engine done.... will be bigest DIY jet engine in the world.... but this year the car comes first.... it can get a very expencive hobbyIt gets a little hot
