Ppf full body

This is false. Good quality PPF will 100% protect against keyed cars. Someone used a screwdriver on my car and it didn't damage the paint.
Here's a 2023 article which states:

The fact is, PPF/clear bra is great for resisting moderate to light abrasion and tiny rock chips, but it’s not going to withstand someone keying your car or a giant stone denting your front end. That’s not to say PPF isn’t great at protecting; it’s just not a magical force field like some imagine.

Here's another article which acknowledges PPF is able to resist keying "to some extent" (towards the end).

Finally, PPF is known to be punctured by a big enough or sharp enough rock. Unless it's made of kevlar, I don't see it resisting a determined idiot with a key (or any sharp object, pressed down hard enough at the right angle to tear through the PPF) and wouldn't want to test this out. Can we compromise and agree that my original comment is "half-false"? (lol)

I don't need an article to tell me the opposite of what I saw with my two eyes, that when someone put a screwdriver to my car, my paint was protected.

Here's a test

I asked my auto detailer (the owner who's been working with PPF a LONG time) if PPF will always prevent paint damage. Here's his email response today verbatim:

Yes they are right about saving the paint but it does depend on how hard they push against the PPF, if it is a sharp object and they break through the film they will damage the paint.
I have had customers bring their vehicles in and I did remove the damaged film with no damage on the paint.
I have removed film with lots of damage on the film and very little damage to the paint.
I hope this helped but yes it does save the paint.

So yes, PPF will prevent some damage but not 100%. The good news is that it will reduce damage if an object penetrates the PPF.
