After complaining about a very forward/centre soundstage I've just read there are rear speakers?!

I can hear the sub coming from behind, but get nothing from other speakers. Usually the infotainment has a front/rear balance setting. But I can't find such a setting.

Does everyone else get obvious speaker sound from the rear? I'm wondering if they're not working and that explains my sound issues.

There is a setting to adjust front/rear, but the speakers in the back upper area are mid bass speakers and they don't produce medium or high frequencies. You need to turn up the mid and low frequency levels to hear/feel them. I took my car apart to install sound deadener/insulation and they are much more "present" now as is the sub. Definitely a worthwhile enhancement. I tried the sound system while I had the rear interior panels removed and swore the mid bas speaker were not working but they were.

Was that the result of just adding the sound deadener? You didn't change the speakers or anything else?

There is only left right adjustment in my headunit.

Thanks for the info. Explains why I can only hear bassy sounds from the rear.

Yes, this was just from adding the deadener and insulation. I'm frankly amazed at how much better it sounds. I increased the mid and bass levels up a bit and I no longer hear what used to sound like distortion.
