Share your information about Emira i4 delivery

I ordered Magma Red. After I placed the order, Vivid Red became available, but I didn't change the color. I like Magma Red. Because it changes color under different lights.

A very good choice of an attractive color❣️ What about the interior color? Have you heard about when you can receive your car?

In my case the car is in Japan, approved by authorities, but waiting for PDI checking. Sales staff say delivery will happen in September 👀

トキオンさん、ありがとうございます。
私がオーダーした内装の色は、アルカンターラのレッドステッチです。納車日については、まだ、連絡がありません。たぶん、あなたの車の納車より、後になるでしょう。
Thank you Tokion.
The interior color I ordered is Alcantara with red stitching. I haven't heard anything yet about the delivery date. It will probably be later than the delivery of your car.

Before I add my thoughts to @Tokion 's writeup, some background:
  • I daily a V6 manual Emira with Sports suspension and Cup2s in the city
  • have not had a chance to drive a V6 auto Emira yet, so cannot compare
  • not an audiophile

Summary: It's a nice car - different from a V6, but in no ways inferior nor superior.

I am a satisfied owner of a V6, and have nothing to add on the exterior, interior, audio, and handling of the car. The auto makes it easier to tolerate traffic, which is a positive aspect, especially in the city. There was no "D" position (shows how much I know about these things) but it shifts faster than I can. I don't need, nor do I expect anything more. This is a nice car to drive.

You can hear the turbo with the windows up or down. Noise inside the cabin was not too loud, but you can hear the turbo up to about 3,000 rpm and then it gets lost in the exhaust note. YMMV depending on the pavement and tires, as we all know this car picks up quite a bit of road noise.

The exhaust sounds like what it is, an inline 4 cylinder engine. It was a little louder than I what had expected, with a rumble. It's a nice deep rumble, not obnoxious but definately present. The V6 growls, the i4 rumbles. For folks who want to tune the sound, there are aftermarket titanium cat-backs on the market. I wonder what a steel muffler would sound like? Or aluminum? We only drove the car in the city and on the expressway - have yet to hear it at higher rpms on the twisties.

I have grown accustomed to the "click once to initiate selection, then click again to select" operation on the drive mode selector, so had no problem getting used to the gear selector that everyone is complaining about. It's an auto, so I wasn't really thinking of anything other than "forward" and "reverse", and the paddles are adequate for shifting up/down.

Oh, and the demo car had mesh on the side intakes. Perhaps the newer V6 cars do too?

I noticed my car has the mesh on the left hand side but not on the right. Was the i4 covered on both sides?

I think I would have noticed if the mesh was only on one side, but only have pictures of the left side, so not sure now...
...wait, you got the i4 ?

Last time I checked there was a Toyota engine so pretty sure it is a V6😅

Guess I got the car where they ran out of non mesh left side scoops when manufacturing…

Or, got a sneak preview of new parts ! I would contact the dealer about replacing the right side with the covered scoop.

Thank you, definitely will do. Need to book my initial 1000 mile maint as soon as the non holidays ends!

The demo car used in the Car Graphic video has mesh on the right side.

My 2.0 seems to be ready to be delivered to the dealer soon. This means I expect my car should be delivered to me in Sep.
But quite honestly speaking, I'm fed up with frequent delay and not sure I can keep my motivation having this car as my own for long term....

In the same boat (⁉️) as you. Was told about “delivery within end of September” but cannot get any clear answer about the actual delivery date.

History of my 2.0 order (including reservation) at Lotus Tokyo Harajuku:

2021/9/2 Reservation amount paid
2022/4/22 10% of full order amount paid; specification
2024/9/? Promise of undetermined date of delivery (full amount paid)

I got the latest info yesterday and had a brief meeting with the dealer. The final inspection by the service maintenance professionals and other accessories set up should be done within 2weeks. I confirmed that I can take the car in the last week of Sep. Eventually everything has been clarified!

Finally,it has been confirmed that my car will be delivered at the end of this month. I've waited a long time ....I can't believe I was able to be so patient!
ようやく、今月末に納車が決まりました。長かったあ。。自分でも、よくここまで、耐えられたと思います。。

Sounds like the first batch of i4 user cars will be delivered in a week or so ! Make sure to check for paint blisters on the doors and count the bolts on the underpanels before accepting ;)

皆さんおめでとうございます!あとちょっとですね!

So, Nick219, do you have any plan to debut your extraordinary design and color combination Emira 2.0 Turbo FE here in the forum⁉️😇

Looking forward to our meet-up with each others cars. Mine is now scheduled for October 3 delivery.

PS. I realize that you have made a YouTube video after taking g delivery of your Beautiful Car Life Emira 2.0 Turbo in Zinc Grey:

新しい2025モデルのアメリカ向けEmira価格表示でわMagma色もSenecaも一番高いExclusive paintとして、US$1950のオプションで, 277,000日本円です。いままでFirst Editionオプションはふくまれましたですが、これからのバイヤーが標準価格プラスオプションを払わなければなりません。アメリカ向けだけではなく、そのうち日本むけのEmiraもこの考え方の値段設定なります。

Eventually, my Emira has been delivered last week.
Zinc Grey, Black alloy wheel, yellow caliper, ice grey interior.
EMIRA2.0.jpg

This looks much better than what I expected.
Since my time was limited last week, and I cannot share the driving impression deeply, but I felt the 1st drive give me "much better" feelings in driving and product quality than when I had driven the demo car. Maybe this impression comes from placebo.
Great driving impression especially from steering, design..... I love this car in total.

Driving impression would be posted in the other thread.

October 3rd, 2024 I finally took delivery of my Dark Verdant Emira 2.0 Turbo FE with Tan interior and Silver wheels and Yellow calipers. It’s got the Alcantara steering wheel with yellow stripe. Even though it has Sports suspension, I chose the Continental F1 tires since I will drive mostly on regular steeets including in the rain, so I did not feel I needed track focused Michelin tires. (I actually have Michelin PS4S on both of my BMW vehicles (an Slpina B3 Touring F31 and a BMW 335i Cabriolet E93).

It was raining on Oct 3 and I left Lotus Tokyo (LCI) Harajuku about 16:30 and drove Meiji street to Shinjuku and took a left on Yasukuni street and into Omekaido. My goal was Ogikubo where I brought the car to «Polish Up» for polishing and Hi-MOHS ceramic coating. I have decided to not go for PPF for the time being, because I am not yet convinced that it is worth the cost, or even neccessary. I also hear rumors that it may require frequent maintenance and updating.. I am still not categorically against it.

A couple of things: I am very pleased with the way Kuwata-san of Lotus Tokyo Harajuku has taken care of me throughout the prolonged wait for the car (over 3 years), and I think he is really the best person for this job. I have truly enjoyed going in to talk with him on regular intervals, so I bow to him in respect.

Regarding the one hour drive through rain snd heavy traffic, everything regarding the car and DCT gear system worked perfectly. It was easy to get the car into forward gear, and equally easy to reverse. One must simply lest how this gear lever system work slightly different from a regular automatic (torque converter). For this particular drive I kept the car in Touring mode, and the gear system in Automated mode. The suspension felt very tight and firm (the way I like it), but never uncomfortably so. The engine always felt strong and potent with a certain «grunt» of determination. It was a satisfying and pleasing drive, despite the challenging road conditions.

On the last section through Ogikubo I had to go through some very narrow one-way streets, and to get into the workshop, I had to drive into a pedestrian pavement, and also turn into and across a street (actually a part of Kanpachi) while the staff watched oncoming traffic. Next I had to reverse the car while turning and aligning it into the fairly tight workshop space. All of this worked out well. To me it told me that the Emira is quite maneuverable to obtain prescision positioning, so I am very pleased with the way I could control it in every respect.

I guess this was a kind of different test of this sports car’s abilities, especially since the maximum speed did never exceed 50 km/h under the congested traffic conditions.

By the way; did you notice that I have chosen the number <139> for the licence plate (lots of Emira has got <131> for Lotus Type 131? Lotus was for the first time in a non-Mercedes car given the opportunity to use the hand assembled (one technician builds one engine from beginning to end) Mercedes AMG M139 with AMG dual clutch gearbox DCT 8G. This combination is slightly lighter and results in a lower point of gravity for this 4-cylinder version of the Emira.
