Supercar you would take instead of the Emira

Ok, I'll bite. Since the Kimera was mentioned (great call),

Money-no-object:
Toyota 2000GT or AM Vantage v550

New-ish car:
Maybe test drive some McLarens to see if there is some soul there?

Emira budget and not a dollar more:
80s V8 Vantage Manual
or
Wife and I build a Type 65 Coupe from Factory Five. (To be completed soon)

I liked the Ferrari Roma a lot. I test drove one and found it beautiful. Understated looks like a 911..

But, looking at it compared to an Emira.. it just doesn't compete. It was also way too expesnive

I mean im just saying the looks are not super outlandish like a supercar. Its more chill like a 911...

its not that crazy looking right?

I hate the converitble though.

Yeah, I suppose it's understated for a Ferrari, but it's still a Ferrari! I agree the Emira looks better though.

If money is no object, in order of preference...

Ferrari F40
McLaren P1
McLaren 750s
Ferrari 458

And I would drive any of them as much as possible, just as I intend to drive my Emira if it ever shows up.

I was present for the debut race of the F40 LM at Laguna Seca. We were running a Lola S2000 in a support race that weekend, so I had full paddock access. Watching that car race, seeing it up close, and standing next to then up-and-coming F1 driver Jean Alesi left an indelible impression on 20 yr old me and sealed the F40 as an all-time favorite, unobtainable dream car. The build quality is poor and creature comforts are non-existent. A Ferrari mechanic I knew told me never, ever get an F40. But I would still take it over anything else :)

0-60 in under 1 second! 🫠
Faintly Properly ridiculous, even as a party trick.

I guess the great news for collectors out there is that these will be super rare in the future... after most owners black out and crash them.

My Emira was intended to be a weekend / evening car and as I'm a fan of convertibles (money no object)...it would have to be a Daytona SP3. 918 Spyder / 765LT a close second and third.
