Received the email outlining the enhance/protect options prior to delivery, disappointed there is no paint protection film so wondering about the the GardX CX2 ceramic coating Lotus are offering. Anyone any experience with this brand? Not sure who would be applying it either, not sure how good BCA would be at this compared to a local specialist.

The extended 2 year warranty at 1799 seems decent value though, for a total of 5 years. maybe the service plan too.

That's the first I've heard about (factory??) extended warranty being available. Last time I enquired it wasn't an option.

Is this new for Lotus and specific to the Emira?

I don't think it's specific to the Emira, it's worded as a Lotus Cars extended warranty, but given it's their only car at present.....

Good point though as I'd probably want it for my FE Exige so I'll ask the question.....

Interesting.. can you copy and paste the email content here?

Interesting. Is this part of the 30 day process and you’re one of the first deliveries?

So far no one else has mentioned this email. I’d been told Lotus were planning to offer PPF but not ceramic coating, so that’s changed.

The email says these options will be part of the payment completion process so that must be imminent. I am a this month (factory collect) build. Links…

The extended warranty doesn't seem worth it to me.. at all. There is so much "not covered" and most major issue should arise within the first 3 years (not after).

The fixed price servicing at £1,409 for three years is a lot higher than the equivalent Evora GT410 scheduled services, which are individually fixed for A/B/C services and total £1,020 for first three years.

And only recently they told me in an email they were going to offer PPF for factory collection so yet again things seem to have changed!.....

I could not find the price of the maintenance PKG. for Cayman GTS, wondering if they are pricing options closer to Porsche. That is significant change in 3 year service cost.

The extended warranty seems to be only powertrain/mechanical. If it cover's a clutch replacement than might be worth considering. If I was going for the AMG i4, being new I would opt for it as well.

Nevermind saw clutch was excluded.... I wouldn't pay for that extended warranty

Getting replacement parts and having warranty work done is going to be a nightmare anyway. I'm glad there's a new dealer opening much closer to me, but still extremely concerned about something like a replacement windshield or simple warranty repair taking 6+ months. With my luck I'll need something fixed the first month I take delivery and then not able to drive my Emira all spring/summer.

This is certainly my biggest concern with Lotus. I really hope they work very hard to change that reputation. I remember watching the savage geese review on the Evora, and he even said it's difficult for any warranty work and takes months.

Great news! Have you had your ‘30 day call’?

It kind of takes the proverbial when it's a 15 year old drivetrain? Thought cheap servicing of the Toyota lump was one of the selling points

It should be. I'm not sure why it is any more expensive than the Evora to service, the main service schedule items must be nearly identical.

I guess they were always going to get their money back somehow after their promise not to hike the car price during all this inflation.

Sad really.

Okay, this is new...

I've never seen any type of coating that has a lifetime guarantee on maintaining "lustre". Quite extraordinary...!

What a useless guarantee. How about "we will pay for the cost of paint repairs if a bird craps on your car and it etches the clear coat due to a failure of our paint sealant". Re-application of the coating is a joke, sorry to say. Not even a paint correction is offered, just a new sealant coat... Pass.
