UK dealer demo cars - specifications

I went to Solihull for the ‘event’ and would possibly be my choice over Bristol just because of the drive over the Cotswolds via Stow etc. v the M5. But likely to do factory pick up. Fancy a few beers in Cambridge on the way back.
I’m in Cambridge keep me posted and if I have taken delivery Ile catch up with you boys 👌🏽🥃

What happened to Bell & Colvill? The list says they were due to announce their allocation 2 weeks ago. I thought they were a "flagship" dealership and would be one of the first to get something.

its pretty clear there have been yet more issues we dont know about, and we wont be told about, which is in some ways fair enough, but at least the damn dealers should have been updated!
In the last "official" info from CS the dealer cars were first 2 weeks of august, then week 2 / 3 and since then nothing has been said, and now they will perhaps be first 2 weeks of September, but this is not guaranteed as indeed nothing is.
The fact Lotus are not calling us to arrange test drives already implies to me the cars wont actually be at the dealers in these 1st two weeks of September either, certainly not the first week anyway.... but I am happy to be proven wrong.
The big question is whether this effective extra month delay on dealer cars translates into an extra month of delays on customer cars?? Not necessarily, but I do think some delay is inevitable......
Once again, at this point, I think we will be lucky, even the early depositors to get cars delivered this year..... I probably would hold off registering from December to January, 22 - 23 car... or would I?

Agreed, another worrying signal. I'm in the I4 gang so I'm not sweating it for an early allocation anyhow! It would be nice to get behind the wheel of a V6 at some point though to confirm I want to stay in this for the 2023 long haul.

I think you are right most customer cars will be delivered December into 2023, there may be a few lucky punters who get their cars before but not many. I’m an V6 autobox and still being told October build November delivery, if that happens I promise to run around the Lotus factory naked but let’s see.

Naked and without paddle shifts!!!!

At this rate, anything that moves will work!!!

I put a sad face as I think you would in that case have your car taken right back from you.. haha

Indeed!

Here's the first production spec dealer demo about to be delivered (missing some bits that are stuck in the supply chain). But I'm told these have airbags so are safe to drive!

I had an update from B&C earlier today. Still no firm delivery date for their demo cars but now expecting them by mid Sept. Lotus will be centrally handling the booking of test drives for early deposit holders during the first 2-4 weeks, then they will be open to all.

There is apparently an increase in comms from Hethel to dealers this week, with information and training videos about handover process, so it sounds like things are progressing.
