US buyer. Any guess when I can expect delivery?

Just submitted my deposit (I know, much later than many others on this forum) but I’ve been on the forum basically everyday for the last few months so been right there with you guys through thick and thin. I’ll be going for the base V6MT.

After talking to my dealer in Pittsburgh, they were saying FE deliveries are potentially set to begin Q1 2023 and base orders should go out some time around then. I inferred this to mean base V6 deliveries will probably not be anytime before Q3 2023 and actually more likely to be Q4 2023/Q1 2024. The dealer rep agreed that timeline checks out, but he also said he doesn’t have exact details on base models.

I also inquired about the demo car that our Dallas friends got a chance to drive. They are not sure when exactly but they do expect it to come around to the Pittsburgh location sometime this winter. Bummer it’ll be cold, but at least its better than nothing. Their actual dealer demo (nimbus with red interior as I’m told) will likely arrive the same time the FE deliveries begin, Q1 2023.

All that to say, if you’re waiting for the Base V6, don’t hold your breath cuz it may be some time.

Welcome as an official forum member and deposit holder - congratulations ... and what kept you so long? 🙂

Just a data point, I stopped by Park Place and they’re hovering around 200 deposits. My napkin math says that 40 of those are FE’s delivered in (let’s be honest) May, June, July 2023, At that rate I’m estimating they’ll deliver about 15/mo thereafter so about 75 more cars through end of calendar 2023. Which means a deposit today puts you somewhere around June 2024 delivery. Adjust up/down based on your confidence about production ramp up, and based on your dealer’s allocations/deposits relative to Bellevue.

Edit: sorry 45 FEs, the rest of the math is about the same.

Thank you ☺️:)

The forum has been a great place to learn more about both the Emira as well as Lotus since I’ll be new to Lotus (my father in law had an Esprit but he sold it for to pay for my wife’s dream wedding, so I never got to drive it.) I consider myself of the demographic that this new breed of Lotus is targeting a.k.a young buyers looking for a car that can be more than just a weekend/track car. As for why it took me so long to make a deposit; admittedly I wanted to make sure my finances were in order. I’m only 27 and buying a 80-90 grand car may come off as irresponsible, but I’m of the opnion its ok to make irresponsible decisions responsibly 😁

You'll be old before you know it. Buy the car and have fun!! Your reward for springing for that fancy wedding..:)

Trust me I’m feeling it. And that’s the plan! Gonna drive the heck out of this car and then eventually sell it for my daughter’s grand old wedding! … in like 25 or so years 😅; no daughters yet

Great story and outlook. My daughters have grown up with Lotus cars in the family and, despite limited interest in driving them, both asked to be taken to prom in a Lotus.

Everyone here seems like they're in their 40s or higher, so it's nice to see someone that's actually my age trying to buy one too. It may be irresponsible but since I can afford it, I'd rather have it now and enjoy it while I'm in my 20s and not my 50s.

This car will be my daily too. I did consider an Evora but decided I might as well spend a little more for a newer car that I'll be running into the ground.

Three quarters are over 40 and so a quarter under 40. 10% in their 20s.

That’s awesome, nice to meet a young forum-goer! And yes I agree, if you have the money, nothing wrong with enjoying it now while you’re young. I’ll be dailying my Emira on all days it’s not precipitating in the Midwest, so like a whole 30-45 days in the year 😅 but I’ll still have my AWD Stinger GT for the really bad days.

Unless I break between now and delivery and buy a $5k beater corolla, this car will be my only car for sure. I can always fill in the gaps where I need something else with public transit, ride sharing and rentals.

Of course I don't see myself living anywhere that's not a heavily metro area so it works for me.

If I were somewhere warm like you are don’t think I would’ve kept my Stinger, or even had one to begin with. Its been such a fun and reliable AWD car for the midwest tho, so will keep it as long as I need it!

Nice to see other members from Atlanta!

Tbh I would be lying if I wasn't somewhat nervous about ownership as I'm in a metro area of north ATL inside the perimeter. Luckily I'm in what seems like one of the only complexes that has a private enclosed garages (one of which I have), but I feel like this car would definitely by far be the most expensive one in my complex, although my area is relatively middle to high income. The complex and residents are nice but the car would definitely look excessive lmao. On the plus side, delivery would be taken ideally shortly before my lease ends and I move to CA.

Unfortunately I can't bring myself to move out to the suburbs, and most of the other apartments in the area don't have garages. Lol.

Thing is, it's just not a Lotus thing. Porsche allocations are non-existent. I laugh when people say they will buy something else instead... but what??? a used over MSRP car? A older Lotus? All of which I will avoid. I'm in the boat that patience will payoff and others that jumped ship will be kicking themselves. Also the delay stateside is not so much an issue as it's extension is through winter... So delivery in Spring is perfect!!!

You say that but I got a MY23 GT4 allocation at the beginning of May. My car will be here November 11th.

yummy! what options did you go for? I am awaiting my 718 Boxster T in 3 weeks!

PDLS+ did in fact get deleted for supply chain issues but I was back and forth on it anyway because I don’t like the nipple washers and I don’t do much night driving (too many animals on county roads and drunk drivers on city roads).

How did you spec your T?

hello!

here I go:

it takes a while to generate the page, big delay. That is what I built. Has black leather everywhere in the interior, and Guards Red Stitching even up near the windshield, around the clock. Even the AIR BAG piece that is plastic is not on mine, all leather. And carbon fiber full bucket seats. The seats + the Burmester stereo made it super stupid in price. However, the inflation made it +7.63% increase over last year. was just about $8,000 cheaper last year. sucks.

Not sure anyone can answer this. All I can say is that I’m a U.S. buyer who placed my deposit a few days after reveal and I’m due to take delivery in April 23.

I4 seems behind schedule so that might a longer wait than V6 base.
Me too number #5 at mine dealer 😊

Hey All.. Like the thread topic says… Any idea when I can expect delivery for a deposit placed around 6 months ago? Obviously not going to get a FE car and will happily take a I4 engine but when will that be? Does anybody have any idea? I’m happily driving a ZL1 1LE Camaro in the meantime but am getting itchy feet! That Z06 Corvette looks incredible at that price point and the Emira in a possible 2 year delivery might be old hat before it’s even on the driveway.
I think that the Z06 is at least a 2-year wait + if you haven't put a deposit down by now, and it doesn't have a 3rd pedal - so it's OUT for me...
