For those waiting on Base / I4 info:

Please note that this is all the information we have received at this time, and we are still waiting to receive an update on Base V6 & AMG I4 Emira. A National Dealer meeting is planned in March (date to be announced), where we look forward to receiving the answers to all of our / your questions. Our Dealer Principal (Young Kim) has already committed to attending this meeting no matter where and when it takes place, as we all share your sense of urgency here at Gator Motorsport. As always, we will keep you updated every step of the way!

Gator's dates conveniently omit the original planned schedule of September 2022 production / October 2022 delivery for the first US FE's.

I'm still betting on late Sept for the first cars to trickle in. If Lotus survives that long.

Bad news is better than no news I guess...

This really sucks though, will be getting the car after more than 2 years of waiting with a deposit and will only be able to drive it for a couple of months before winter hits.

No, read the table. Those were the PREVIOUSLY communicated timeframes.

I did read the table. Those dates reflect the previous delay. The original timeframe was 6mo from order lock-in to production, 1 more month for delivery. Now we're talking about 13mo from lock-in to production, and another 2 months for delivery. How many people would have locked in an order if you'd known it would take 15mo to get the car?

Not surprised at all. With all these delays, Lotus might as well change it from First Edition to Last Edition. The production run for the Emira is going to 2026/2027. So with only 3 years of production left for the base, Lotus might be able to pump out another 15k cars total. This will be a really rare car, it'll be worth the wait but I guess it's time to buy something fun while we all wait.

I understand, but Gator was simply trying to update to the new dates. No nefarious omissions were intended, I'm sure, since we all know the original delays and have been operating to the previously announced dates.

No worries, I'm not upset with Gator. Lotus never misses a chance to disappoint its customers.

Worst than I thought. And I just learned my order didn't go in until May, even though I was one of the very first deposits my dealership took. No idea why. Seriously considering cancelling now.

I would have still been in at a 15 month expectation, without question. I would have preferred that expectation to be properly managed at the time, but we've been living through some weird times. I'm just happy they're building cars. They could easily have folded the company due the covid-induced component manufacturing and supply chain disruption, before ever shipping a car.

I know folks will be frustrated with this, and for good reason.

For me personally it's good news, and I'm in the camp of Lotus please take your time and get the car right. I bought this car with forever in mind, so I'd like to stay happily ever after.

Same. 100%.

I intend this to be a 30 year automotive stewardship, rather than a luxury product consumption.

Also if it's still true that the V6 manual has a regulation-driven 2025 expiration, this delay may mean that here in the states we'll only have 2 years of (limited?) production on that spec. Good news for rarity and value.

BTW my salesperson also said the dealer won't get its demo car until the first customer shipment, so those are also delayed until late summer now.

There's no 2025 reg expiration in the US market... that was an EU thing I think. And I'm not sure that's actually in force now.

If it's in force, I think the question is whether it makes sense to continue the spec if it's only for the US. If Europe and China are both reg'd out, I could see them still abandoning the v6 and making room for the electric successor.

Same here. It's really only car I really want.

I think the only market with those particular constraints was the EU. China barely has anything resembling a regulatory apparatus, hell they are still selling cars there that would fail 1980s US or European crash test requirements.
