USA/Canada Delivery Thread

Got a call from Summit NJ - the car is here!
I went to check it out, and talk about the options.
Ray informed me that they are aware of a couple of issues that the cars might have - the A/C running on high speed and the power steering pump issues.
If there are issues they will be addressed before delivery.
The car will get the PPF applied some time next week hopefully and I should be able to pick it up next weekend if no issues!
There are quite a few Emira’s now at the Summit NJ dealer.
P.S. pictures after the delivery!
Mine is there awaiting PPF as well! I’m looking forward to picking her up next week.

I've found that my car has the AC issue as well. If I hit max AC it works, but without using max AC and setting it to any temp including low it only blows out warm air.
Why so many issues, it’s frustrating to hear. It’s like Ferrari in the 1980’s and early 90s.

probably from sitting out in damp weather for months. Thing that probably wouldn't happen if the car was driven regularly.

Where in Canada are you? Who told you May delivery? Could you elaborate? Lotus told Gentry about a month ago to expect a large shipment by end of month and it’s been crickets since then. As of yesterday they won’t tell the dealer whether or not there are Emira’s on the water so I’m wondering if another dealer was given confirmation of a ship setting sail?

Gentry alluded to me it was something in the high 4K fro delivery, @Maffu313 got one of the first deliveries and may be able to confirm.
I'm in Montreal and received an email in January saying that my order was in production and just weeks away from being shipped - and that they were sending my a gift... never got anything. I then spoke to my dealer who said it should finally be on the boat in April to be delivered in May. I'll reach out to Maffu313 to see how much he got charged for T&P

Destination fee here in the U.S. is $2,350 which translates to $3,212.60 Canadian. PDI (pre delivery inspection) is part of the normal dealer receiving/inspecting process and they shouldn't be charging extra for it. Sounds like they're using that as a cover for simply adding a mark-up.
I agree - I think that's exactly what's happening. I've asked them to share the manufacturer's invoice (hiding their actual cost of the car) to prove that the $5000 is what they're being charged by Lotus for PDI but got no response. Do you know if the PDI is a charge that comes 100% from and billed by Lotus or there are discretionary parts of the PDI that's determined at the Lotus dealer's discretion ?

my invoice in Montreal shows 4500.00 for delivery and PDI
Hi Jay, is that the proforma estimate you got from Scotti or you actually took delivery of your car already and that's actually what they charged you ? I'm supposed to get mine any week now, if you actually got yours, how long ago did you take delivery and when did you place your order ?

Yeah, no gifts for Canadians. Don’t even want it unless it was the book and they didn’t have to send anything but what a pathetic company to send us an email with more lies - if they didn’t plan to then they either should now or at the least send an email apologizing for the mistake but nope. Just shows how reckless they may be when it comes to anything.

That’s nice that they let you know it was in production in January. Don’t think many people got told that unless they were asking. Sounds like your dealer was relaying the same tidbit that they plan to ship a large batch in April implying May delivery but no official word it’s happening. I guess we’ll wait for @Nova next update whether or not the current boat en route from Halifax has any Emiras since Lotus won’t tell the dealers lol.

For those who have received their Emira's, how is the overall experience and any issues with the car thus far?
Back in dealer after 500k. Limp mode. Or ‘Engine Reduced Acceleration’ . Camshaft position sensor codes, O2 sensor codes, damage to leather and interior . Waiting for parts from US - new cats, cam and O2 sensors ETA at least 2 weeks after 2+ years of waiting with either no or farcical communication. Still I had those 500km of sub 4K RPM driving to enjoy.

I’ll let you draw your conclusions on this as an ‘experience’ .

My first Mosport day chasing my friends in their Porsches is now going to see me bumming a ride in their P cars.

If you want an art installation (that you can visit at the dealer) get an Emira.

If you want a viable trackable road car. Walk up the road and buy a used GT4.

PDI is a service performed by the dealer on behalf of the manufacturer, and it is typically charged back to the manufacturer as a warranty claim.

More Emiras arrived in NY on 4/26, only 6 for the US but 36 for Canada. Images below links to the tracking sheet where you'll find the VINs:

I’m pulling for you guys north of the border! Lotus has got to realize what a cluster-f$@k they created that they have even pushed Canadian patience.

Things you think about when you've heard nothing about your car that landed in March: Is something so wrong they aren't telling me? Do the steering pump/HVAC/brake pad problems come from sitting wherever the car is? Sould I order a case of ACF50? Has anybody at Bellevue Lotus called anybody anywhere and said "Hey. How about loading this guy's car next after all these years?" I'm sure all will be well when the car arrives but still. Meanwhile my kid made me this...
