USA/Canada Delivery Thread

Wow, that's wild! Only 759 Evora GTs were ever made and just 535 were manual. The fact that nearly 4x as many manual Emiras are in the US blows my mind!

You can blame Geely for many things but they invested enough money at Hethel to transform Lotus from a Kit car shop to an actual modern day production plant.

And while the Evora and the Emira share much in common, given the stunning exterior design and civilized interior accomodations of the Emira, I would suggest it’s not a surprise. ;)

Sweet, my car is on that 3/30 arrival!

Thanks for these updates Nova
Happy for recipients. It's still somewhat of an exclusive club.
Looks like tariff with UK will be 10 percent, so it's your move Lotus.
Wondering how quickly dealer lots will clear?

All foreign cars are 25% tariff. Including Lotus. All other UK imports is 10%... my scotch cabinet just went up...

Pretty sure the new tariffs announced today are ALL supplemental tariffs...so the car tariff would be 35% if that's the case. And the scotch tariff...I think Trump's previous 25% tariff on scotch, from 2019, is still in effect?

For one, tariff is charged at the dock, so it is on the price Lotus USA pays to Lotus UK, before their profit, and before dealer markup. So less than the MSRP.

Further, any components sourced from the USA don't count. Dunno where they get their Corolla engines, but Toyota has a plant in Huntsville, Alabama. If you get GoodYear tires, those are also USA.

The 2GR-FE are made in Japan as no one uses it except Lotus and some Australian car company that make like 10-20 cars a year. I think practically most parts used in the Emira are not produced in the UK and US.. Hethel pretty much only provide the painting and assembly labour.

Got a source for this claim? I really doubt this is the case. No company is going to take the time to calculate which parts came from which country and then have a cost breakdown for each part and each vehicle.
