V6 Auto 0-60mph change?

It's not just DCT's, it's also the gearing those fast shifts allow (and in turn additional gears).

The reason for the cars' weight has nothing to do with emissions. The Evora GT was already 3.1-3.2k lbs depending on options (lots of carbon fiber options in those as well). Emira is right around that same figure and has way more in terms of creature comforts, electronics, leather, heavy seats, etc.
You are correct about emissions! I know you so enjoy being able to point out things like this lol. You're something else. I was thinking regulations in general, as in crash regulations, but didn't insert that inbetween emissions and regulations. Good catch!!

Of course the weight has everything to do with the Emira FE having basically all the options standard. The non-FE is obviously going to be lighter. Now let me see... did I miss anything in that statement that can (and should!) be corrected? Maybe you should be the one with the name Eagle... ;-)

I don't know why people are upset about the website info not being consistent. In a strange paradox, the fact that the website is inconsistent is consistent with the inconsistency of Lotus!
 For The Drama!

If I was selling something, and I had customers coming to collect in the next couple of weeks, and the specs on my website were inaccurate…. I would like to think I would proactively contact them just to let them know I was changing it.

Yes they have the right to change specs without notice. But notice would have been the considerate British thing to do ;)

Surely someone with an auto-box can do a 0-60 run and put this issue to bed? Manual 0-60 is a bit different as a lot come down to the driver and how good they are. But auto should be simpler to get.

I believe this may be the correct answer. They might have tuned the supercharger boost map for the auto to provide fatter torque because that transmission can take it. Later on, they probably ran into emissions issues and had to dial it back to be the same as the manual engine, which resulted in slower performance.

There’s not that many people with an auto, it will take a few weeks for more be run in and able to do this properly.

There are loads of manual cars run in now can’t believe no one has measured 0-60 times or is it more a case of don’t want to share the reality 🤨
I have never timed the 0-60 in any performance car I have owned. To get anywhere near the quoted times in most cars you have to practically abuse the car IMO. So I leave it journos and influencers and just enjoy my cars.

So far the Emira hasn’t disappointed on driver engagement including acceleration but I am still not run in so will post more when I do. But I won’t be trying a 0-60, sorry ! Nor will I be racing RS3s away from any lights !

I stuck with it depsite the delays and appalling lack of communication from Lotus but would fully respect those who decide to pull out (I very nearly did). And when they do maybe they will have better things to do than hang around on a forum for a car they didn’t actually buy ! 😉

I'm still perplexed by this. Especially those that call LCC...

Some who cancelled early cars intend to return and look at the Emira again later, either for a Base Edition or pick up a used one or wait for some of the initial issues to be ironed out.

That's all fine and they are welcome to hang around on the forum to follow what's happening. Many of them got fed up with the poor customer service, so have a legitimate interest in whether Lotus are improving in this area. They also want to hear about owner experiences of driving and owning their cars, including post-delivery support from Lotus and dealers. Most of them in the UK will have had many months of dealing with LCC before cancelling.

Also, how will lotus launch the S and R versions if the base one has to be detuned?
I was thinking about this.... If I remember correctly, auto manufacturers pay more if their average emissions (on all cars sold) is higher. Perhaps they were thinking the i4 or Eletre would have been released and sold by now and would lowered their emissions overall allowing them to sell some variants (S, R or an auto-box) without a larger financial penalty? Without the i4 and more so Electric cars to reduce the overall emissions, perhaps they were forced to de-tune the Auto cars.

Just guessing here.

That is very likely the issue, but I’m hoping that in reality there’s not really any difference. Surely it’s all self certification anyway

I should get a pass anyway, because my main daily drive is a Tesla.

This whole emissions stuff is a load of nonsense. Very difficult to take it seriously when the US president takes a private jumbo jet, a helicopter, an 8mpg beast car and a 58 car motorcade to attend a meeting on climate control.

The mystery goes on:

So I tried the launch control and this is what happened:

1st try.
Launch control works great, but I forgot to keep the gear shift in Auto and went late from 1st to 2nd gear, injection cut, so lost a lot of time. Still when I pressed in the center screen the time lapse was 5 seconds, not bad.

2nd try.
Everything set up properly, in auto mode, impressive. 0-100 KPH in TWENTY SECONDS 😩

What happened here exactly was that after choosing carefully a B road with no traffic (Speed Limit 90 kmph though), when I was around 80 Kmph I looked briefly at the mirror, only to discover there were two motorbikes behind me, the Guardia Civil, Spanish Traffic Police with there white and green BMW bikes. I have no clue where they came from.
OH SHIT moment, probably went to 110 kmph when I decided to lift the pedal, and later realized I hadn't stopped the timer. That was the 20 seconds.
They followed me for 5 kms until they decided to take a different route. They probably thought the car was too slow and boring !

CONCLUSION:

I have decided to stay with my personal record for the slowest Emira and not try 0-60 anymore.
Unless a police officer kindly offers to escort me in the process.

Based upon your first attempt, I think it could be safe to say that had you done it properly you might have timed at least 4.2 to 4.3

That’s the issue

If the manual is supposed to do 4.2 but people are getting 4.6 or more what are we going to get for the auto 5.2

There are many people on here who would never have ordered the car if they knew that these were the numbers.

There is one confirmed time for the manual. A german magazine measured 0-100 at 4.6 s. That equals 0-60 in 4.3 s. If rollout wasn't omitted, then the 0-100 becomes 4.3 s and 0-60 becomes 4.0 s.

I am sure it will be fine, just was surprising to find the numbers changed suddenly

I've tried 0-60 numerous times in my Challenger. I measured 4.7 s once as an outlier, but consistently get 4.8 - 5.0 s on 275 width tires. Have to manage tire spin the whole run. My fastest and most consistent runs are with stability control full on. I don't use launch control or no lift shifting.

For reference Car and Driver quoted 0-60 in 4.4 s and 5-60 in 4.8 s on 245 width tires.

0-100kph is 0-62.14mph - are you comparing "apples with apples" here? ;)

Certainly apples to apples. Feel free to fact check me.

0-60 time will always be multiple tenths faster than 0-100, anywhere from 0.2-0.4 s due mainly to the extra speed required to reach, the potential for an extra shift and potential to fall out of power band.

Evidence below!

1. Data point : Evora Gt410 sport loses 0.2 s in 0-60 run vs. 0-100.

2. Data point : Evora 400 sport loses 0.3 s in 0-60 run vs. 0-100.

3. Data point : Evora S loses 0.4 s in 0-60 run vs 0-100.
