What are you driving until the Emira arrives?

Driving these two and a 330d Xdrive estate for the family / dog / tip duties. Picked up the SLK55 yesterday and love it. Emira due in December (apparently) and wondering how i can make a 4 car garage work 🤣View attachment 8121
This SLK55 looks brilliant.❤️ Could you post more pictures of it ?

A heavily modified Toyota Tacoma. I may notice a slight increase in performance coming to the Emira. Lol
Hope you like it it will never die
It's actually called the Lotus Emira forum marketplace, not the Lotus Emira marketplace, described as "Buy/Sell/Trade market place for and by the EmiraForum community". So feel free to add for sale and wanted posts for cars other than Emira.

👍

your first official act!

I bought in new in 2009. I haven’t been exactly gentle with it, but it keeps plowing along, with horrible MPG I might add.

These are bulit for me and I can afford in China, 4×4 DSG Yeti for easy off road trip, MT Superb for daily use and MT 207CC for airing. Folks on this thread really have good tastes and are with class. I like all the models you post. Waiting to touch my green Emira of couse with MANUAL transmission .

any suggestions for a car to buy that I can trade in against the Emira and not loose a ton.

My Build date is in November but my lease car goes back next Friday

Budget is around 20k GBP

Just scratched my Emira itch for a second time, Mazda Mx5 BBR 300, love the E86 (Z4) but really fancied a convertible, if anyone is interested the Z4 is available, a great stop gap car that is retaining its value well.... Future classic.

Just realized that I had not posted my ride yet. RX-8 ("Mazdaspeed Version II" limited edition) purchased new in 2004, probably still have over a year to go until the Emira arrives.

First post.. flipping through this thread I find the range of buyers the Emira draws fascinating. Fills a lot of voids for a lot of people :p

Welcome to the forum. There's a pretty diverse group of people on here, that's true! Feel free to post over in the introductions forum to say hi and give some background. Lots of interesting clips on your YouTube channel, including an Emira walkaround people may not have seen

Haven't stopped smiling, it's been tastefully modded to the body work, front splitter, side skirts and duck tail rear spoiler. Been upgraded several times by BBR to finally arrive at 297bhp, suspension mods, full bbr exhaust, suspension changes etc thousands and thousands spent! Goes like a rocket with very little lag, sweet gearbox and the sound is just right. So, so pleased, can't imagine much that would provide such an adaptable, comfortable and sporty package for £10k...oh and it looks like its just left the showroom! 😁😁

Sounds like a minter! What's the reliability supposedly like with that much power? Always wondered

BBR extract:
The addition of an uprated clutch assembly allied with tried and tested BBR performance hardware enables our stage two conversion to cross the magic 300bhp barrier reliably whilst still maintaining (engine safe) low boost pressures.

Dyno testing has shown that the BBR Stage Two Mazda MX-5 turbo conversion produces a stunning 302bhp at 7350rpm with a mighty 254lb.ft of torque available at 4950rpm and an incredible 270bhp at the rear wheels on 2.0-litre models. These figures are achieved whilst still running very low and safe boost pressures of 0.65bar (9-10psi). In a car weighing around 1100 kilos, BBR Stage Two turbo conversion catapults the MX-5 firmly into supercar territory. On a 1.8-litre models, the figures are 264bhp and 232lb.ft of torque, endowing even the smaller engined MX-5 with fearsome pace.

Only time will tell but the 300BHP upgrade from 250 was carried out 2 years and a couple of thousand miles ago, the clutch was upgraded and I believe the engine is good for around 360HP. Puts a massive smile on your face in 1st, 2nd and third, reminds me I need to stop working and go for a spin, have just ordered a new plate for it "S300BBR" (S as in MX-5 Sport).
