What are you driving until the Emira arrives?

Close the thread, I've won this.

Cost me less than the new laptop I bought the same week lol

Driving a 981 Cayman GT4 for the past 3 years. Anxious to see how the Emira will compare on and off track.

I can't wait to hear how you think they compare once you get some seat time in the Emira! I'm thinking the GT4 is going to be tough to dethrone in this catagory.

Even if it's not as fast, if it's as much fun, it's a win.

I'm also having issues with the stock GT4 exhaust at local sound restricted tracks, that's a bummer.

Just got my hands on a 2006 Elise with 34k on the clock. Depending on how the situation with the Emira evolves, I might actually be sticking with the Elise. It is so much fun!
Lotus invited early Evora deposit holders to the factory for a behind the scenes day. We got to drive the newly launched supercharged Elise on the test track.

I was so impressed I bought one to fill the gap until the Evora arrived. Then after a few months driving it I was enjoying it so much I postponed my order to skip the Launch Edition and waited for one of the first Evora S.

My wife changed her mind once she saw the Bronco in person and now the whole family loves it! Most dealers have a demo model right now so you should swing by and check one out.
Lucky you :) I assume here in Germany we will have to wait quite some time before we see some at the ford store, or from importeurs. Which trim did you choose? I love the style of the bronco would have been a very individual car over here. As we will have the 3rd kid now we exchange our 550i with an x7 by june 22. So more space to come but not that „wow“ feeling 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thinking of doing the same to be honest. Would be very happy with the little Elise while Lotus sorts out all the bugs out of the Emira.

I currently drive one of 3 cars most often. A 2012 Miata with PRHT, a Pontiac G6 GT hard top convertible or o 2005 Acura RL. I have 2 Bertone X1/9s that stay in the garage except for summer weekends. Not really worthy of pictures, any of them, but I like each of them for different reasons. The Emira is a treat to myself after 30 years of hard work. So looking forward to its arrival.

I bought a bertone x1/9 only last month. I owned it for all of 2 weeks, as soon as I bought it I realised it was a mistake, at 6’1” I was too tall to drive it comfortably . So I sold it and made £1000 profit, which was nice 😄

That’s a beautiful example. Love the red and dark grey two tone with the high belt line. Mine are both low belt line two tones. One is silver on top and the other is white. Both also mechanically enhanced with hot cam and shaved head so they make about 100hp. Better than the stock configuration, and since they only weigh around 2k pounds they actually get down the road pretty well. The silver car was caught in a flood in Nashville in 2009, bust just below the air intakes. So the engine was protected. The car was completely disassembled and restored. It may be the nicest example in existence, and only 32K miles. Not worth what I spent, but I felt an obligation to preserve the car. The white car has 120K miles and gets driven more. Has a shortened shifter that makes it tons of fun on the twisties. Both have red leather interiors. So proud of both cars.

BMW Z4 M40i.
3 litres, 6 cylinders, about 350hp (varies from 340 -382 depending what documents you read) and the roof comes off! Really good auto and practically zero turbo lag.
So why do I want a Lotus?
