Your perfect 3 Car garage

There would be a lot more Emiras in the list if the criteria was ‘useable sports car under £100k’. I might change my 720S for a Maserati MC20 subject to test drive if that’s allowed. Best Lotus for me is 211 for track. Evora GT430 for road/track, roof off Elise 111r for road. Most desirable is Esprit Sport 300 but haven’t driven one so that’s assuming it’s as great as it’s cracked up to be. Esprit Sport 350 (V8) was very special, exceptionally good to drive.

how are you going to carry your Christmas tree home next year? 😂

The current values are well inside 300k.

F430 approx £125k

Mercedes £40k

Bentley £35k

In fact, can chuck in the Emira too!!

New is a different matter.

Wanted to see what everyone would pick as ATTAINABLE (not dream car) 3 car garage. Can be any type not just sports cars, motorcycles are welcomed or boats. Cars can't be more than 2-3 years old, (no classic's) so they would all be current new car pricing. All three combined can not exceed the price of a 488 Ferrari Spider (so around 300K USD or so), which I personally think is one of the best looking cars ever made. Threw this in just for fun and extra difficulty. ;)

Lexus/Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series/LX600 - Daily Driver, this epitome of over engineered and reliability. The type of vehicle that can go anywhere. From a nice dinner in the city to the Serengeti on safari. Ready to take on everything.

Lotus Emira V6 - The weekend fun toy to drive b-roads, but also to take into the office sometimes and longer trips. Also, just to admire how beautiful it is.

Porsche 718 Spyder - Open top experience and perhaps the best looking convertible that can be had for under 200K. Odd track day, similar driving experience to the Emira, but with the top down brings a different experience.

( If I lived in Europe / UK - I would replace the Emira with an Exige 410 Sport(removable top) and the 911 Carrera PDK instead if 718 Spyder, the Exige would give the open top experience when needed, however above is the best I can do in Canada)
So a few things came together for me last year to give me a truly once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to actually do this, and the result was roughly within your rules too.

I agree with you 100% on the Ferrari, so pride of place is a Rosso Corsa Ferrari 488 Spider. Stunning car, sublime to drive and very usable (I've done a 1000 mile road trip across France, Germany and Belgium, and wouldn't hesitate to do so again). I've had it on the track at Silverstone and Snetterton, and both sessions were absolutely exhilarating.

Second is my black Porsche 911 C4S (991.2). All-year-round daily driver. Astoundingly capable and really quick. Truly every-day usable, and it'll fit my daughter in the back too. This is the only one of my cars that hasn't yet been on the track - must rectify that next year.

And finally my burnt orange Lotus Elise SC (220 bhp). I have this track prepped, with racing harnesses, fire extinguisher and adjustable ani-roll bar. My track weapon, it's done probably 10-12 track days now, and been thoroughly enjoyable. I achieved my national race competition licence over the summer, so this might be exchanged for a race car next year.

Unfortunately I hated the Emira interior when I saw it at the B&C reveal last year and couldn't have lived with it, so pulled my deposit then. It would have had to replace the 911 and, for me, I don't think it can (I bought the Elise instead and have no regrets for what I want that car for). But I really hope Lotus and the Emira succeed - I've been a fan as long as I can remember.

Well, I currently have a decent 3 car setup in my 3 car garage, but I also have deposits in for a G82 M4, 718 GT4, Tesla Cybertruck, and a Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing 😄 Don't worry, I obviously can't get them all, but not taking chances on ending up with my last ICE(s) being something I don't like! I've decided I really do want a manual transmission again, even the amazing DCT in the R8 wasn't the same for me, not the engagement I am looking for.

So, my current are:
R8 V10 RWS

2022 F-350 6.7L diesel
20221214_135235.jpg

2020 Tesla Model Y (wife's ride):

Though the R8 is a dream car, I am having a similar issue I had with the Emira, and I don't fit very well. My head is pretty much touching the ceiling while I'm in it, even with the seat down all the way. It will likely be getting replaced (downgraded) by the M4 this Spring unfortunately! I decided I really do want something with a manual transmission; even the amazing DCT in the R8 just isn't the same for me, not is it the engaging experience I am looking for.

So Wolfram is living the dream... let me know if you would like to change garages with me haha

You should give the Emira another shot, once the dealer has a demo. Maybe, just maybe it might fit better. Otherwise a P-Car is a good option for the last manual ICE.

For me it would be what I currently have for my daily driver, an AWD Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti Lusso, the missus wanted a Honda CR-V EX-L so that's what we got her, but if it was just me I'd get an Ineos Grenadier instead, and for the 3rd vehicle the Emira is on order.

Having an Alfa Romeo and a Lotus definitely puts me in the petrol head category lol. Once things go all electric, will people be called voltage heads?

If money was not limited for this imaginary dream garage, an 812 Superfast is my ultimate dream.

Right there with you. Love the Superfast. Maybe my favorite car.

My (real) current 3 car garage, well will be when the yellow one turns ups in a few weeks! :)

What mods on the Tesla? I don't really know much about EV tuning
Mostly bolt-on stuff like suspension, brakes, wheels, tires, and weight savings. There are some software tunes out there, but mostly for increased cooling and custom stability settings for the track, not much available in terms of more power.

Most of my mods were intended to make it more fun/engaging without any compromises as a daily. It's about 124lbs (56kg) lighter than factory and handles probably twice as good, but she's still a fat girl...

-KW V3 coilovers custom valved by Mountain Pass Performance (30mm lower ride height than stock)
-Forged 19x9.5 wheels (x4) with 265/35/19 Trofeo R's (track) and PS4S (street)
-Sealed spherical bearings all around
-Billet aluminum adjustable camber, toe, and spring arms all around
-Girodisc two-piece floating rotors and Endless EX90 pads (x4)
-Stainless brake lines with Castrol SRF DOT4 fluid
-Brake Master Cylinder brace

As it sits it ran similar lap times around a small 1.6 mile circuit as a 570S and lightly modded 991 GTS thank to the low-end torque rocketing it out of corners. Bigger tracks (120+mph) it will struggle to keep up.

Yeah, we're gonna need to see pics of this EV beast.

Ha, I don't want to get too off topic... but I'll show some suspension mods plus a quick hot lap from nearly 3 years ago for those interested. Pretty bizarre experience without any engine noise.

How are you not laughing your ass off the entire time that’s so crazy.

Yeah it gets attention there since it can nearly keep up with some pretty capable cars when setup correctly and it's just my daily lol.

An EV + an Emira V6 is pretty much my ultimate combo since they're such polar opposites, hence why they'd both be in my ideal garage in some form. Quick EV's are super usable on the street and cost nearly nothing to run day-to-day, but still definitely missing that analog, lightweight, manual transmission experience for the weekends and back roads that I'm hoping the Emira will fill.
