Current progress is just AMAZING.

Painting dark colours with reflections such as these are probably 10/10 on a difficulty level. Hats off as it looks fabulous so far!

Of course I'd be up for that and the current series featuring the 6 FE colours would celebrate the genesis of the Emira in very fitting way. Nice one @EspritGuy

Thank you and, yes, you are spot on about dark colours - less forgiving to paint, and it is tricky to capture the darkness and colour intensity of something like Dark Verdant.

I feel your pain! I'm still committed to DV despite only ever seeing a 3"disc of it - can't even get a date when the plan-forms will arrive at my dealer, but I'm feeling a lot of love for DV right now!

...after too long a break (life getting in the way) we're off again.

You can see the progression here, from very rudimentary base coats, to blended bodywork tones and finally reflected clouds and highlights. There is a weird kind of alchemy that happens when the final touches go on - the last 5% making 90% of the difference between flat and 3D form.

These are just incredible! I cannot imagine how hard it is for Lotus to use a camera to take a picture of this car though!

It's amazing how much adding highlights brings out the depth and dimension. Clearly you love what you do, it shows in your work.
