Beefy 4cyl sound pretty good at tickover.Could be a V6 that. No evidence it’s an i4….. hmmm. I only wish that is true noise of i4.
Just not particularly sonorous at higher revs..

Having them behind your head along with the air intakes you are gonna hear those bad boys SPINNNN!I continue to be hopeful... but I hope annoying high-pitched whistle/hairdryer noise on the video wasn't the turbo! That's gonna drive me mad
... well at least I can be super cool with a massive blowoff valve poking out of the bodywork and heaps of wastegate flutter, right?... RIGHT?!?Having them behind your head along with the air intakes you are gonna hear those bad boys SPINNNN!
I still want to hear it on full song before I declare myself satisfied, but I agree it's a good sign... enough for me to rest easy until Christmas 2022Watched it again. I am now convinced it’s an i4!!! Yay. Not bad at all, not bad at all. I can rest easy now till Christmas 2023
i4 for me will be perfect.
Plus the significant cost for adding the supercharger, chargecooler and cooling circuit and the rebuild costs on the transmission to add the Lotus specific gearing need to be added to the cost of the basic Toyota engine.
It is being marketed in other markets than China and the UK. For example I have ordered mine where I live in Japan. (I made the initial order immediately after the Emira was announced in 2021, and I entered my specifications and paid 10% of the purchase price by the time of my final order in April 2022. I was told that delivery will be in May 2023 or afterwards.) As far as I have heard, it will be marketed in Australia as well. I do not have information about all markets, but I would believe that the i4 FE will be sold in all markets where the V6 FE is also sold.I do agree that LOTUS should introduce i4 FE to markets in other countries.
I think if Lotus detuned the Base versions from the First Editions there would be a complete riot with a majority of the Base customers pulling deposits immediately and effectively killing the Emira as a mass appeal product if not the brand in its entirety.I think the information on the Lotus Emira official website (uk) should be understood as follows:
First Edition V6 and I4 both have 400hp and V6 from £75995, I4 from £71995. Then Basic Edition V6 and I4 both have 360hp and from £59995.
Then, All four versions are available in every country (not now).
That’s not what the UK website says. It says the V6 is 400hp and the i4 is 360hp.I think the information on the Lotus Emira official website (uk) should be understood as follows:

I almost forgot that there are huge differences between the Basic Edition and the First Edition in terms of interior features and options. A mistake was made here. The difference between £59,995 and £71,995 goes to features, chassis and interior. So unfortunately we only have the 360hp AMG I4 engine. A little lost. Because the 400hp I4FE Emira sounds great. That’s not what the UK website says. It says the V6 is 400hp and the i4 is 360hp.

I’m sure Litchfield will sort that out once they get mitts on the i4…I almost forgot that there are huge differences between the Basic Edition and the First Edition in terms of interior features and options.
