Any other young buyers?

I thought I was young then looked at this thread

If it makes you feel better, you are probably more "hip and happening" than I am. I use a flip phone, hate social media, half of my music is from the 1960's, I still have CDs, etc. And none of this is in the cool hipster way, but in the lame old guy kind of way.

I put a deposit down when I was 25, and I am now 26 years old. REAAALLLLY hoping to have a car before I am 27. I think there are only a couple people on here in the US and under 30 years old, so I wouldn't expect a flood of responses, but maybe widen your search to some people in their lower 30s and you will get more answers!

1. I will be driving this less than daily, and more than on weekends. It will be my normal car, except for in the winter. I work from home often however, so I do not quite drive every day. In the winter, I will drive my truck most days. I live in the northeast, so snow and salt get pretty terrible here. Multiple times a year I go on 12 hour one-way trips, and would occasionally use the Emira for this. I have a fiance and no kids, and will not have kids. Fiance has a CR-V, and I also have a beater car in addition to my truck.

2. My insurance quoted me $1509 per year. I have never had a speeding ticket, just a non-moving violation for having a light out when driving out of state through Ohio at age 22. No points on license. That may or may not factor in, probably not especially by the time I get the vehicle.
@2BIG2FAIL So just reading through these... so far there have only been 2 people still under 30 years old and in the US? I would say we could start the world's smallest club, but it is almost as far from me to you as it is from me to Hethel  kind of puts the size of the continental US into perspective. We probably wont bump into each other on the road anytime soon ha

Haha, "young" is always relative. I have already had 1 birthday pass since depositing. I am hoping that not next year, but the year after, I can give it to myself as a birthday present.

You just have to be faster than they are

If Lotus still sells this as an option, it could be helpful in a getaway. I'll have to call my local rep and see.

It is a good birthday present, this year in mine I went to see the car in person

I was reading that currently the factory is running at 90% more or less surely on your next birthday it's your turn to enjoy it :)

I ordered mine ~600 days ago! Lol.
Soon after I ordered, I lost all my 'play money' in the crypto crash; Have taken until now to get back to where I can pay for it again.
Given all the delays, I guess it did not matter as much in the end, and all that stress in the middle was just in vain XD.
I have ordered an I4, so it's probably a few years left, and I will be in my 40s when I get it.
I'm currently 33 years old!

Didn't know Charles Leclerc was a forum member! Did Ferrari approve your Lotus purchase?

Placed my deposit at 30... I'm now 32. Had to convince myself to spend this kind of money at my age due to the missed opportunity cost from decades of compound interest on $100k+ that I'd be missing out on, but realized what's the point of having a bunch of money if you can't enjoy some of it while you're young and healthy. "Everything in moderation" I suppose is a good way to enjoy things in life without being overly excessive in any one area.

Insurance estimate was around $1600/yr where I live, but I have relatively high coverage to protect my assets, so could theoretically be lower if I were more risky. Never had any accidents or traffic violations.

I would gladly pay 9000 a year for insurance if I can be 25 again. 🤣
😂. Careful what you wish for! Lack of experience, insecurities, caring about what people say, less financially sound...no way. Just health.

Totally true, my inexperience gives me uncertainty, although it is true that I will be careful, it scares me, also what others will say when I am so young and novel...
