Hi there
The brake dust on these cars is pretty nuts.
Has anyone come up with a solution to this?

Either pads or some sort of treatment I can put on the wheels?
Thanks a ton

Update
I just got back from RacingBrake a little bit ago. It was very nice to meet Warren and his team. Everyone was very knowledgeable and passionate about what they do.
They removed, precisely measured, and weighed the front and rear discs, front and rear pads, and test fitted cross-compatible calipers and pads.

Warren is excited to get pads, BBK, and CCB options to the market for us as soon as possible. Stay tuned!

Here are a few pictures of the process

Are there pictures of the CCB options mounted?
Unfortunately no, we did not get to that point. This was more for pads and rotors initially but I’ll be going back to RacingBrake a few more times to get all the options ironed out.

Warren has already sourced some OEM parts to help test fit without having to disassemble my car every time.

A quarter of their shop is OEM parts they use to test their products. About 400-500 complete front and rear spindle/hub/brake assemblies.

You can sure see the difference in coverage of their brake pad versus the stock pad. By any chance do you remember what the weight was for the front rotor? The picture you posted is of the rear rotor.

Correct, the larger pad is what will be offered but with minor changes to fit our OEM rotors better. Very big difference.

I believe the front rotor was right at 20 pounds but I’ll let @Warren-RB confirm.

On behalf of Emira community and RB I would like to express my gratitude to Airen for his enthusiastic generosity in bringing his car to us so quickly plus his suggestions from an user standpoint.
We have now completed the data collection, and since most of the components are already available so we estimate and leadtime of 4-6 weeks.
Rotor weight comparison will be posted once the design is done.

Rotor design is up.

Airen told me you guys are more technical inclined and like to do your own research/study than just follow the marketing campaigns therefore in the following weight table I added RB2 as an option for those who want to read and sharpen their brake even more than just stock replacement.

For those who want to learn more - What's the advantage of a RB 2pc rotor design vs. others?
  • RB patented "Center-mount" design vs. conventional surface-mount.
  • Our "Stepped hat" vs. their "Bells"

you guys really hit the ground running, amazing! Can't wait to see finished products.

I may have missed this, but are you also going to be looking at kits with larger diameter rotors with caliper brackets?

Yes, this thread covers only the base level for stock rotors and pads replacement.
The next level #2 would be a BBK fits under 20" stock wheels for 6/4 pot with 400/390mm rotors and the highest level #3 would be a ccb brake system kit so you will learn all possible options before you make your purchase decision.
But since the brake dust is a kind of "emergency" to most Emira owners so we are speeding up the development accordingly.
I understand it's a little disappointment to you folks that no brake upgrades options (Even like Alfa Guilia w/QV 6/4 pot and ccb), but don't worry you should have more choice from aftermarket with a decision after doing your own research and evaluation and we are here to help.

Indeed, Lotus aftermarket is not the broadest and when vendors like yourselves step up, the community appreciates and supports them in kind.

It seems the tides are turning with the Emira since it’s a more widely available model so hopefully aftermarket support will continue to increase.

Thanks Warren!

Are these rotors solid? What about your patented slotted with holes in the slots?

All discs are made with our patented "open (thru) slots"

This cross section dwg shows our patented "convergent vane" design and the holes are milled with an oblong shape allowing disc itself for expansion and contraction without cracking like a typical rotor with "round" drilled holes that can soon lead to fracture.

So how quickly do you think you can ship the low brake dust kits? Will they just be the pads at that point? Not to be too pushy.. ;)

IF so.. put me down for the first order (or second)...

We hear you.

Emira brake has a very tight disc annulus available for the brake pad, as a result of fitting the existing McLaren pad to Emira disc we noticed a need for a slight modification at the pad bottom to avoid overhang (outside the disc). The rear pad dimensions were also defined - Airen may want to elaborate this.

So both front and rear pads can now be released to production.

Rear Pad:

Will report the leadtime as soon as available.
