Different spec. Emira Safety Car for BGT at Silverstone this weekend

Great to see a different spec. of Emira fulfilling the Safety Car role for the British GT Championship at Silverstone this weekend. Not road registered and fresh from the factory.

V6 FE, LHD, Manual, Sports, PS Cup 2, Shadow Grey, Black Pack, Diamond Cut, Red Callipers, Tan Leather,.

And the Safety Car driver says she loves it.

Great to see decent pictures of the interior leather.

Note the exposed shifter folks :)
i guess its just me, but the leather seats seem...... well just look closely at the "wear" for a car that is maybe not that used, or maybe its done thousands of hours. The leather looks loose in some places, seat back, and shows creases on the side bolsters, which for a "new" car I would not expect as much. Ive done 4000km in my car with leather interior and they look the same as the day I received it...100%.

I guess I am just being picky.... but the tan colour looks nice.
I went with ice grey, but trying to change it to alcantara black, as long as they dont delay my order, if they do I will stick...

Meanwhile those with 2019 911s

And the fabulous Porsche after sales service...

I know Lotus has been working on the base seat foam. I hope they make the base foam stiffer so the leather cannot easily stretch and sag. Interestingly in the Shadow Grey dynamic prototype there is no visible sag, but some of those who saw and sat in it have stated that the base seat foam in it is too hard. I would rather it be harder than cushy and have the leather sagging in 100kms!
look at the seat back, there is sag there .... and the creases on the side bolsters, these seats dont look top notch to me.....
time will tell

Agree! It looks like the leather dimensions do not match the seat cushion dimensions.

Given this isn't the final leather finish or seat cushion, my concern is the potential for sag rather than the fit/finish on the side bolsters and crease points that I'm confident will be resolved.

I really hope there are some demo cars , proper test reviews of final production spec cars ( no more excuses ) before I have to yes or no . I am really not sure at the moment. Saw the pace car yesterday and was underwhelmed- unless Shadow is in bright sunlight it looks very flat. The wheel gap was 2+ fingers at the rear and 3+ at the front - totally spoils the look and stance - why wouldn’t this car sit the same as production cars ?
Interior did not look top notch and seats were looking old and baggy already. Trying to keep positive, but …..!

Honestly, If you don't like it then don't bother.

Don’t take it so personally - do you have a vested interest ?
Everybody who placed an order wants the car to be as we had hoped it would be but a lot of people on this forum ( at least those with an open mind ) understandably are having some reservations.

I have no reservations, I deposited on the 10 July, my spec has not changed from the outset. I've always bought new and never driven any of my cars until I sloped off the forecourt, on collection, that is what makes this so special as you learn to love what you have bought. Bit like buying a puppy, hate the bloody thing then end up spooning it for the next 10 years

Because some committed based on a picture Lotus painted for us only to change it up with crayons instead! I based my decision on the roadshow car... thinking it would only get better than that... because that was the story from lotus. So far that hasn't proven to be the case. Some of us FE buyers in the USA had to commit to a non refundable, none changeable order before seeing a production car in actual colors... buying blind! People have every right to be nervous... myself included.
I agree, we are very fortunate here in the UK, but in all honesty its a punt of faith but financially I don't think anyone can go wrong someone will want your car because it so different.

It's a pre-launch order exercise for a large number of people. That means no test drives, limited information, a few paint samples, a couple of show cars/prototypes. Yes, it involves a leap of faith and taking some risks.

Other pre-launch exercises by other manufacturers sometimes have more info but sometimes less.

People further down the queue will get more info, including press reviews, photos, feedback from earlier customers, and test drives in dealer demos.

If you're not comfortable committing your order based on the info available at the time you have to commit, all you need to do is defer your order until you have the info and are comfortable. That just means delaying your delivery.
