DIY: Floating Console Modification

I don't see much difference with the printable version shared here on the forum and this 399 dollar plastic part??
It’s made of billet CNC 6061-T6 aerospace grade anodized aluminum. It’s just a different look with a heavier material than the plastic. It’s pricy for that little guy.

Looks pretty nice. But 400 USD is a bit too much.
Yeah I agree it’s too much for that small little piece. Plus I think comparing the picture to @kitkat one, I still think it’s better bc the highlight is the shifter IMO.

But posted it incase anyone was looking for another option.

If the entire to of the console (all the back and silver of the console) was one piece aluminum, I think it may give it a cool industrial look. Then again it may take away from the shifter mechanicals .
Agee, not going to have many takers at that price.

Finally the gap is gone

I'm psyching myself up to do this in the near future... is anyone here in the UK printing these parts for sale, or can anyone recommend a printing service?

Hi FST. Looks nice and clean.
Btw, I noticed that you don't have the passenger side footwell storage net. Did your Emira come without it or did you remove it? I prefer the clean look and I'm actually thinking of removing mine to clean things up a bit particularly since it's never used anyway, but was wondering if its removal results in visible residual holes or markings.

Don’t ask me why but my car also from GCC spec , dubai, didn’t come with the net and I think I didn’t see any emira here with that

I even asked to the dealer months ago but I didn’t get any reply about it

Don't know about you, but I see a lot of 3d printing services locally by people who own 3d printers for personal use at home. I find them on facebook market place etc and getting someone to print one for cheap should be easy. I'd recommend PETG as a material, it'll look nice and dark and smooth and be temperature resistant in a warm summer day parked outside.

Hi Crestima,

As Citizen said here in Dubai, GCC cars didnt come with the net and I prefer as you said the clean look.

Thanks to you both. I kind of suspected that to be the case. Hopefully, someone else on the forum that has the netting like mine and has experience with its removal can provide some input. Not a priority, but just something I would do, if there's no collateral visual damage.

I'm going to do a test print of the surround in PLA-CF. I will post pics after print finishes. Anyone is welcome to the print. Not a difficult print. Will ship in the US if anyone wants it for fitting.
Has anyone made a .stl for the piece that fills the gap at the base of the shifter when mesh is removed?
