I’ve had my Emira for about 3 months now and I love it.

I haven’t owned a manual in 12 years so I no longer have my old driving shoes.
I’m not an expert in heel-toe but I’m trying to get better. I’m not planning on tracking the car.

I’ve been mostly wearing some leather sneakers but I don’t love them because the sole is studded.

What is your preferred shoe with the Emira?

Any opinions about the following types of shoes:
- indoor soccer shoes
- boxing or wrestling shoes
- “barefoot” shoes (Xero, Vivo)
- Piloti driving shoes
- Puma speedcats or other Pumas

I have a pair of Air Jordons mesh shoes that I especially like driving with manual Slingshot driving
and used them for the Evora's I owned that were manual...
Ordered Emira at 73 yrs old and bad knees the I4 ..
When I drove the Manual Emira wanted it but thought clutch was a little more pressure as I get older.
Will still use Air Jordon's or the old reliable Sketchers ...Not All Sketchers will work or feel comfortable driving..

Indoor soccer shoes aren't bad you could do a little better likely, but easiest to find and often discounted.

Overall my highest pref does go to something like a Speedcat. I prefer the originals, pretty much the only complaint for them would be 1. they don't fit wide feet, so that can be hard for some folks, 2. The soles wear out pretty fast.

Def don't need boxing or wrestling shoes, you'll want something you can still walk around in without wearing out in 20 minutes on pavement. Plus I'd think those would cost enough to warrant just buying something labeled as a driving shoe.

Piloti - I have no experience, not all their shoes feature a "good" heel cup from the looks. They seem about 50% more expensive than a comparable option from Puma or otherwise. I struggle with breathability of my shoes, so I've not gone that route.

For me, if I could get Vessi to make a shoe with a heel cup that would be about perfect. Highly breathable, waterproof, comfortable walking in, just needs a good no-slip to the heel without a bunch of padding.

I just ordered some Converse Run Star trainers on Black Friday because they looked like good casual shoe that will work and I don't have to set aside and say "no no, that's only for driving"

Vandel. They are awesome!

Is every shoe "sold out" when you open the link, or is my browser messed up?

Have they paired with Lotus to take orders and promising "Soon"? 😁

I have been a keen observer of the chatter here since one of my pairs of "driving" trainers (really worn-down sneakers) are on the way out. A couple weeks ago I spent a bit of time in an Onitsuka Tiger store in London and tried on a few of their shoes, including the SCLAW ones mentioned in this thread. I ended up settling on some of their Serrano shoes, a model that hasn't been talked about yet.

I find that the Serrano shoes give way more pedal feel than my go-to New Balances and they're comfortable enough to spend all day on your feet. I'm partial to a colourful shoe so I really appreciate the options the model offers. I know that the SCLAW and the Mexico 66 driving shoes are going to give you even more feel, but that'll come with an aesthetics/practicality compromise that might not work for you (or maybe it's no problem at all).

Hope this helps anyone looking for a good-enough shoe with colour options to fit a person's style 👍

Seeing this thread reminded me I got some new shoes to try. I got them (I think $25) on flash Christmas sale on Amazon. I wear a 13 so find normal shoes a bit wide to wear as I'm hitting the gas accidently when braking. These are maybe 1/4 inch narrower than the Chuck Taylors I had been wearing. The real advantage seems to be the bottom tread material as they def stick better to the pedals. I also noticed the feel on the pedals is improved as I had trouble 'feeling' how much pedal force I was using that resulted in embarrassing over-braking at slow speeds.
They do feel and look a bit cheaply made though and I'm not sure their longevity. I'm only going to wear when driving the Emira at least. I got the blue ones so they somewhat match my car.

Good intel on the Serranos! My wife just got me my first pair of OTs and I was on their site looking at others when the Serrano caught my eye....

My Zamp shoes purchased for track use: got 15% off, for Boxing Day. I know I know; too expensive but hey, anything for my feet in my Emira!

US pricing is less: around $65.00 to $75.00/pair (regular price). Aside from black, they come in blue and red, if you're looking to make a fashion statement and color co-ordinate with your car.

I absolutely love my Vandels. Unfortunately they seem to have gone out of business: the website has been in the state you describe for over a year now 😢.

Not exactly out to fancy dinner wear, but I like them -- and my kid got them for me so that makes them even better.

I like the Merrell Vapor Glove for driving. I like barefoot style shoes in general though, for everyday wear and then you don't have to put on different shoes just to go drive. Similar to driving shoes, but have a wider toe box. I find most driving shoes to be too pointy and squish my toes together when walking around.
