Emira Exhaust Upgrade?

Maybe I'm missing something... there is a lot of mention of the Militek. But all it gets you is a remote control for the valve?

Which...you can already control with Tour/Sport/Track mode? What exactly is having the remote supposed to help with?
Value control for Emira is unlike many manufacturers, where usually the value partly open or fully open depending on the driving mode, it is controlled by engine speed and other elements which means you can be on track mode and. still value open no more than 30%. Miltek's controller takes care of that

My GRP Titanium exhaust installation and sound clip videos are coming soon!
Please keep us updated if the value stay intact if you do track. We have many incidents value got melted down from Ti exhausts.

I certainly will! I have an Autocross event on Saturday and a full track day at COTA on Sunday.

Can you expand on this? Are you saying the metal flap itself melts, or the electronic valve actuator? And is this specific to Ti exhaust?

It allows you full control of the valves. You can rode around with the valves 100% open all the time. Current setup even in sport the valves only open at 4k but with the controller it’ll be open even below that

The value actuator and the harness, which leads to engine light and possibly locking power. So far it is only related to Ti exhaust as its temperature is so much hotter than the SS exhaust

Ahhh, I see. Makes sense it's the electronics and plastics. They even built in a little air scoop to help cool the actuator... lol. I wonder if there shouldn't be some type of a heat brake insulation mod to help prevent heat conductance, and also additional shielding to protect it from radiating heat.

Just curious, why would the Ti exhaust be so much hotter than SS?

Also really curious about why this would be a Ti problem since Stainless conducts heat better.

anyone who's worked in thermal imaging knows that emissivity charts are strictly theoretical and that actual emissivity changes based on several factors. that being said, here's a chart that shows Ti with a 2.5x higher emissivity rating than polished stainless.
www.engineeringtoolbox.com/amp/emissivity-coefficients-d_447.html

now maybe the majority of the heat damage that's being discussed is conductive, but the logical conclusion of Ti having higher emissivity is that it will also radiate more heat from it's surface (relative to the stainless).

3m black electric tape generally has a .95 or higher emissivity value, which means that if you place a strip of tape on a polished object, you get a good "target" to read a more accurate temperature with a spot IR thermometer or IR camera. a side by side IR temp check of the two exhaust systems (warmed up in the same manner) would show whether the Ti system actually radiates more heat in to the compartment.

From what I have seen, most owners who have this problem also have their front pipe replaced with high flow cat, so I think there is a heat transfer from the engine bay to the muffler

After an intense and heavy weekend of driving and racing, I'm happy to report no issues with my GRP titanium exhaust system. It was well over 100 degrees on the pavement this past weekend, and aside from many miles on the highway, I also competed in an afternoon Autocross event and a track day performance driving event at the Circuit of the Americas (extremely high-speed and braking race track). My modifications are the GRP third cat delete pipe, Milltek exhaust controller, and the GRP titanium exhaust with the titanium/carbon fiber exhaust tips. I used the controller to leave the exhaust valve 100% open for all the racing events and most of the spirited highway driving. It performed flawlessly, and all the piping now has an excellent bright bluing due to the extreme conditions.

Hey Dragoon, sure was a great weekend, did COTA mention anything about noise? did your car still pass the noise threshold requirement with valves open?

There were no issues with the noise level or threshold requirement at COTA. It hung right in there with all the other loud high-performance cars.

Hey guys, currently in the market for an exhaust upgrade on my Emira. Been doing some digging online and I'm leaning towards the Valvetronic Designs titanium valved system. The pricing is fair and they posted a youtube video of the system walkthrough and I can't get the sound out of my head. Haven't been able to find many other videos as in depth as Valvetronic's which makes me want to go with theirs. Was looking for any advice on other systems I should look into and was curious if anyone here has dealt with Valvetronic Designs? I've heard all good things so far. I'm also going to link their system walkthrough video for you guys to reference, this sound is just unreal.

Valvetronic Designs Emira System:
I also vote for Milltek 3rd cat delete and valve controller - I got them from Greg's race parts...

I honestly don't think you need a new exhaust if you do the 3rd cat delete and valve controller.

I had a "rev off" with a lambo Huracan last week and everyone said the Emira was just as loud.

If it was any louder it would be almost annoying.

Hey folks, just wanted to give you all an update about the direction and I'll be going in. I was leaning towards the GRP system as well, but I'm definitely not gonna be pursuing that because of this: The fact that another manufacturer would air dirty laundry, like that really does not put a good taste in my mouth. I reached out to Valvetronic directly and was able to speak to their team on the phone. Really happy with the level of service I got from them, I spent about 15 minutes on the line got all my questions answered, and the team was extremely knowledgeable in guiding me through the set up that would be perfect for me. They have had a huge number of orders for their set up due to the sound quality, and their systems will be shipping in the middle of this month. I will keep you guys updated with my experience, can't wait to enjoy this thing loud!!

Great update! How was it on the highway? Any drone on the drive? I haven't heard anyone preciously address that topic directly.

I would prefer to hear about all issues people are having before making the big decision. I dont understand your negative reaction to getting even more information. Only GRP would have access to that information and its in everyones best interest to hear it

something so catastrophic I definitely want to know about

Im never one to just bash anyone, especially a vendor without due cause. I was simply telling it how it is based on first hand, real world info.
After an hour long conversation on the phone with the guy who owns the Emira in the video I was blown away with the details he told me. I think it speaks volumes when he bought that first setup, then paid his own mechanic to take it off, and then return it to them for his money back.
Its nice that they did refund him, I will give them that.

I'm inclined to believe Jeff 91 is a 'plant' at this point.

He has exactly 2 forum posts here. One to post a video about Valvetronic exhaust say how awesome it sounds and how he's really thinking about it.

After a number of forum posts and discussion about exhaust options generically and GRP offering honest feedback about what he's seen, we get a long winded apologist post about how he's actually talked to valvetronic and he's going to that way anyway no matter what anyone else has to say. While also saying "they have so many orders and it's coming soon!"

That's it? No questions, no posts anywhere else about his car, about what a full headers system has to offer instead.

I'm cynical but this is questionable at best.
