Emira Issues - from final production cars

I didn’t believe it either when the dealer told me. But the reason why the sos comes and goes is battery drain when not in use. Mines gone now. Pretty sure it’s only the early builds when parts/cars sat around for ages.

Something to check is the boot. If it’s not closed properly then, it will drain the battery as the electronics are on. The boot stoppers need adjusting, needs a good slam and also the overly sensitive key in your pocket can often open the boot accidentally.
Actually, it doesn't need a good slam. I made that error to start with. A gentle close and then a press over the central latch is all that's required. The rear lights will then go out and the tailgate is properly latched.

Radio stopped working today, until I turned car off, walked away with key and then came back later

Whilst cleaning my car today, I noticed under the bonnet vents at the top. A few surface rust screws heads which will need replacing when next in the dealers. 1 month old car 😅.

Still loving my car as my list of niggles are starting to get fixed. Gearbox is loosening up nicely too. Temporarily sprayed some AC50 to stop them from rusting further.

It's stuff like this that I just don't understand. Where are they sourcing this stuff? No fastener should be rusting that fast.

An old coffee can of random screws and bolts in some mechanic's toolbox? In all seriousness, we had someone who claimed to work there who said they were literally spray painting silver lug bolts black for the Emira. Nothing surprises me with this company anymore.

Probably worth checking other exposed areas of the car that may have the same fixings.
I have a bad feeling about the bolts inside the hood, around the oil coolers and radiators. We just haven't seen them yet...

If it's a common type, they may have gotten a bad batch of fasteners from a supplier.

There were similar issues on Elises and aftermarket providers put together a package of all the right sizes of stainless steel fixings needed to replace the factory-fitted mild steel ones.
