@digilotus did you get this one from our New Zealand friends? Taught me things I didn’t know, even after all this time.

Unfortunately, it also highlights the orange peel on the paint. Yikes.

No, I didn't see this one yet @Johnson. Great pickup, thanks for sharing!

I've seen a few production Emiras now in all 6 FE colours and the orange peel looked minor in person, so I'm not sure what's going on with these. Did our Kiwi friends get some Friday cars?

Same vid they did a year ago not sure why they're reposting it
Damn, it's showing new on BBC site. Apologies. Although I hadn't seen it.

As Diana Ross sang

And I'm still waiting
Ooh, I'm waiting
Ooh, still waiting
I'm just a fool
Ooh, I'm a fool
(I'm just a fool to keep waiting)
To keep waiting
(I'm just a fool)

Yeah the comment about the sound is strange, he likens it to a mouse blowing through a straw. 😆
I noticed it was written by Hannah Elliott and the article definitely sounds like it was written by a lady the way it is worded. Re-read the article now that you know that and it'll all click. Take this excerpt, for example:

"It looks as if it came from a fashion shoot: Front-wheel arches curve up into a naughty grin, and a seductive darkened glass roofline down the back partially obscures the 400-horsepower engine underneath it.

Prominent air ducts on the sides and a pinched waist near the rear wheels add to the drama."

I highly doubt many male car reviewers could come up with that sort of verbiage when reviewing this car :) Pretty cool to get a lady's take on the Emira even if she and her friend don't like the sound of the supercharger (and I have some mixed feelings about it myself but I think I'll love it once I get a chance to become more acquainted with it).

Those passages read like car porn.
No 'throaty scream from a heated engine as it wails into the lonely night, sinously snaking along curvasive dark ribbons and tightly gripping the waiting asphalt which quickly yielded to its charms. An incredible legendary lightness of being ensued. Mere sport., yet strongly, relentlessly satisfying. But owned by no one.
Surely poetic license. :)

Not sure if this counts, but I figured it's not a new thread. They speak to Cayman GTS 4.0 vs. Emira and which one they'd have in no uncertain terms (hint: it's the one they already bought). Emira talk starts around 7:30 and comes up a few times until the end.

They pretty much nailed it again - Emira > Cayman GTS 4.0

I guess I need to head down to the Porsche experience center to drive a GTS or GT4 so I can understand all these reviews and forum comparisons.

Strange comment about the gear change, in mine the gear shift is really nice, rifle like and I'm coming from an Mx5/Miata ND. The shift is a big part of the experience and certainly not a weak point. May be it varies between cars?

Throttle house GTS 4.0- brilliant but...

The caveat is we'd take an Emira over it

And autotrader, better steering and handling than a Cayman

And of course, as was stated, the C8 is huge and heavy compared to the much lighter sportscars that were mentioned. But again, there is no contest as far as looks. The Emira destroys its direct competitors in that department, and for many, that aspect, as well as its street performance, are significant reasons why so many deposits were placed. Let's hope reliability in the US is improved.
