Emiras advertised for sale on other sites

Gone up to 18 for sale today :ROFLMAO:

I'll be honest, the amount that are being sold and the effect that this will have on residuals 12-18 months down the line is giving me serious pause for thought. My car is subject to the price increase and it was always my plan to only keep the car for 12-18 months before moving on to the next thing. As things stand, I could be taking a major hit in a years time if there's going to be such a high rate of cars available where the only difference is essential interior and exterior colours.

In your particular case, you might have a point.
I think you would be comfortable with the current price but the jump is big and an 18 month ownership with running costs and tax, might not make it viable for you.

Relatively speaking though, like comparing with a new M4, you will do better than the BMW.

If you are really worried about a shortfall than a GT Porsche, R8 manual are perhaps better.

I could live with the running costs and tax etc and the Emira was always intended as a second car. Its the potential of having a 10-12k hit in a year's time thats making me think again.

At current rates, a 1 year old and 6000 mile Emira is probably going to be what, 77-80K? The Evoras have better depreciation 😁

Let me see the crystal ball

I think in 5 years emira is free on a full tank refuel

Nah,

full charge of the battery on the obligatory EV 😁

dont get me wrong, part of me just thinks F- it, do it anway and see what happens and then the sensible part of me goes whoa there Nelly, think about this for a minute...

If you want something more raw with more chance of appreciation then an Exige or Evora is indeed the better choice. Less comfort but more fun. I have always been firm on that.

A 2020 or 2021 Evora GT will be 50% MSRP at year 10. I was shopping for one when I came across the Emira reveal. I was expecting more Evoras to come available as trade ins on the Emira. That hasn’t happened yet. I’m getting one or the other. Would rather the Emira but if I can shave 20-25k off I can definitely be persuaded.

Ah OK.. Ya a bit different here in the States. Usually some parts of the warranty remain in tact for successive owners (powertrain) while others (bumper to bumper) may be reduced or void.

Bumper to bumper must remain intact by law in the US as well. The only thing that doesn't automatically follow the car in the US is some forms of extended warranty contract. The base advertised new car warranty must be honored no matter who owns the car, both powertrain and general.

Most cars in the US also have a much longer emissions equipment warranty that covers anything related to emissions compliance, usually for either 7 or 10 years.

Cars currently at £85k at dealers…

Now if we were offering our cars to dealers

A) Many don’t want them as a direct purchase
B) SOR

But let’s be honest those selling Emiras into dealers would be getting circa mid £70’s to late £70’s very max so already loosing money circa 10%

Ah yes..I believe you are right. Not sure why I thought the bumper to bumper didn't follow.
Thanks for correcting that info!

A couple of magma red cars have already appeared on auto trader a few months ago, didn’t stay on for long so let’s see how this one goes.

Surely these will get snapped up no waiting list cheaper than a new order - prices slightly lowering now

You'd think so but ultimately it'll depend upon how much demand there actually is. I know I'm going to see what's available on the used market before making any decisions once Lotus are in a position to give me my 3rd deposit/finance agreement. I dont mind going used if its going to save me a few thousand.

Financing these cars as they are not new is a lot more expensive than last year, back to reality really car values depreciating and finance rates high equals slow car sales.

Price drop to £82,990 - have had lots of time wasters and have had 3 people back out now last minute at an £85k sale so now looking for a serious buyer. Just spent £500 having the black pack exhaust and rear badge fitted by Bell & Colvill.

£250 deposit, private message me for more info, please no time wasters.
