Hi guys,

Just wanted to share a teaser for a project I’m working on. I’ll keep you updated on the progress and share all the details on how you can do this yourself once I’ve got it perfected (or as close to bug free as possible).

The stock Android Automotive UI is very basic, but this adds all the functionality you could ever want including OBD2 gauges, GPS Nav, 4G internet connectivity and the ability to run any Android app you want, including Netflix, YouTube, etc.

Best part is it doesn’t require any modification to the car at all. Everything is completely plug and play into a USB port and OBD Port.

It’s not rocket science, but a tonne of time has been spent finding the right hardware/software to make everything work properly and customising the UI to make it suit the Emira.

More details soon :)

Nice !
Yes the current display UI is a bit dull. Adding brighter colors and contrast along with a better performance gauge cluster (with peak value reached) would be welcomed by many of us.

QQ- Does the factory infotainment permit an Android external 'override' input and iOS carplay that the same time?

Hook it up to a front camera, to record track laps, with some additional track data software built in (lap times, steering wheel turns, braking, acceleration, G-force) and NOW YOU'RE TALKIN' (lol). I just bought a GoPro to record track usage, but having something built in would be ideal.

Thanks and I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Go Sentinel GO!

Love the idea of adding more functionality.

Could you offer a skin that replicates the system UI styling? I'd only be interested in something that looks like it came from Lotus rather than looking aftermarket.

Totally 🍿 for this!

Amazing what you have been able to do with the interface. Already looks streets ahead of the dull OEM offering. I'd also love to know if it can work with Carplay.

Would changing the style of the main driver display be a possibility? ie, to some virtual analogue circular guages?

Jon
This would require reprogramming the stock system as opposed to piggybacking it.
