I’m building a fully custom Infotainment UI

Hi. What you are doing is awesome.

Would it be possible to create custom driving modes with this interface, not constrained by the stock combinations of engine, traction, and exhaust (without the miltek valve)?

I would love to have the car is sport with the quiet exhaust at times, for example.

Thanks
Even WITH the Miltek it still performs as a "Stock" Sport car... it's not ANY quieter than it is without the Miltek. The only way to do that would be to CLOSE the valves, which is a terrible idea and will throw codes and even possibly destroy your car.

I too wish they would have allowed us to change (Lotus) all the settings by pushing some buttons... Like Tour mode with fully open valves (like the Miltek does, but from factory).. Or Track mode (I love the infotainment screen in that mode) but keep all the Sport options and safety measures.

Just a quick update guys.

Took the car for a 10 hour drive in the heat last week and everything was stable.

Just finalising a few things to make sure the expereince is a good as it can possibly be and I should be ready to share all the details for you in the next few weeks.

Thanks for your patience.

I hope you make the audio functions easier to use to get to the radio stations, selection quirks and other fuctions that will be easier to get to quicker.

This is cool. I am hoping to see a constant output of what the accelerometer is reading. Not just a red dot and the maximum reading that goes in basically .2 increments.

Hi again everyone,

Unfortunately this is not the update I wanted to give you.

After literally hundreds of hours of tweaking and getting things running as close to perfectly as possible, the launcher I was using for my UI has been pulled from the Play Store, which means the project can't move forward at this time.

If things change I will let you know, but I don't have the time to start over using a different launcher or develop my own at this stage.

Sorry! I was so excited to share this with you all.

That's extremely unfortunate. Do you know if the launcher can be downloaded or sourced elsewhere?

Yeah the APK is still available through other means but I'm not going to encourage piracy.

Argh, that's frustrating... I feel for you. As is often the case, Google giveth, and Google taketh away 😞

Could you not contact the maker of the Launcher and determine if it is available legally via other means?

Yeah the APK is still available through other means but I'm not going to encourage piracy.
I was going to say its very simple to sideload, but I assumed the launcher was free, which would make sideloading relatively harmless.

Tough break, was looking forward to it

Thanks anyhow, it was a massive endeavour

so sorry to hear this. I mean it's disappointing for those of us waiting for but I can't imaging spending that much time into a project to have it pulled from under you

Aww man, that sucks. Hope you enjoyed the project until now. I think your plug-in approach (as opposed to the re-program the OEM system approch) has given the community some ideas, some of which future projects can be based on.
Thank you, I enjoyed this thread and your updates!

Your initiative to develop a custom infotainment UI for the Emira is commendable. Enhancing the stock Android Automotive system with features like OBD2 gauges, GPS navigation, 4G connectivity, and support for apps such as Netflix and YouTube will significantly elevate the driving experience. The plug-and-play design, utilizing USB and OBD ports without modifying the car, is particularly appealing. I echo the community's interest in integrating performance metrics and maintaining an OEM-like aesthetic. Looking forward to your updates and potential collaboration opportunities.
