Finally got around to installing the carbon fiber engine surround by Aerie (herringbone pattern / matte finish). Easy install and looks great!

Installed a custom cut matte screen protector. Sizes are as follows:
H: 124mm
W: 274mm
R: 6mm

I found a 100JPY (110JPY including tax) coupon in the package. It might not be much, but better than nothing!
PM me if interested.

Darn. My 15mm socket was too shallow. Anyone planning a de-cat, make sure you have a deep enough socket to loosen the clamp. I would not recommend using a spanner here for safety reasons. Mission aborted... for now.

What color are your (factory original) front badges? Black on yellow? Green on yellow?

Green on yellow. I haven't been able to take delivery yet, but this is mine while still at the dealer:

Thanks. Just a few more days until delivery? Enjoy the break-in period!

Hopefully just a few days. You can't imagine how anxious I am already.

All the paperwork is already done (name change, number plates, pre-delivery inspection, etc), but during the inspection they found a leak in the AC and the guys at the Lotus Yokohama workshop have to confirm with LCI about replacement parts. If the parts are here in Japan then it may be resolved quickly, but it they aren't... I don't really want to think about that.

What annoys me the most is that they noticed this issue last week's Wednesday and they reached out to LCI, and apparently more than a week later there's no reply yet.

I really hope I will have it by next week's Wednesday because April 4th is my birthday, but I don't have a lot of faith...

Well, you may not need air conditioning everyday, so if the parts are not readily available, I would suggest you take delivery and book a date to get it fixed later. I have only used a/c once, and that was only to test it... Maybe I don't breath as much as others?

I’ve heard that the sole Lotus Cars importer/distributor for Japan ‘LCI’ is going to switch its corporate name to LOTUS JAPAN some time in April, 2024. (I thought it was better to tell this story now, rather than on April 1 🤣🤣🤣)

Are the stickers going be updated? :ROFLMAO:

Well, I have a date already: I'll be taking delivery next Saturday 6th.

Fixing the AC will happen at a later date, when they hear back from LCI. The dealer told me that LCI is in the middle of some kind of reorganization (probably related to the name change that @Tokion mentioned) and because of that's it's taking longer for them to get an answer.

Apparently all they need to replace is some stupid rubber gasket. :(

I don't mind too much having to wait a bit for them to fix the AC because I will be breaking it in mostly in the afternoons/evenings after work, but I hope it doesn't take them too long to get the replacement parts, because the warmer weather is starting already...

Congratulations! No doubt you will enjoy the car. Try doing daily Saitama to Yokohama trips for break-in

Daily Saitama <-> Yokohama, and Saitama <-> Niigata on the weekends. 😅

It is a very bad idea to do most of the break-in in the expressway?

That is what I thought. I did my 1609.34km on city streets, doing multiple laps around a Tokyo sightseeing course. Come to think of it, I still haven't gone onto the Shuto Expressway yet!

That's a good idea. I'll see what routes I can find and I will spend 2-3 weeks doing these until completing the break-in.

For those interested, here is the route I used. It is under 50km, but you can "extend" it at Haneda Airport and Odaiba. Maybe about an hour per lap?
  1. Hamamatsu-cho Station (浜松町駅)
  2. Zoujouji Temple (増上寺)
  3. Toranomon Hills (虎ノ門ヒルズ)
  4. Sakurada-mon (桜田門)
  5. Hibiya, Ginza, Harumi, Toyosu, Ariake (日比谷→銀座→晴海→豊洲→有明)
  6. R357 eastbound to Shinkiba (国道357号で新木場)
  7. Tokyo Gate Bridge (東京ゲートブリッジ)
  8. Jonan Ohashi Bridge, Ohta Wholesale Market (城南大橋、大田市場)
  9. R357 southbound to Haneda Airport
  10. turn around (どこかでUターン)
  11. R357 northbound to Daiba (国道357号でお台場)
  12. Rainbow Bridge (レインボーブリッジ)
  13. Kaigan Doori northbound to Takeshiba-doori
  14. start over again (繰り返し)

I'd love to see what kind of scenic routes you can devise.

Thanks for this! I've created a route in Google Maps with all these checkpoints in order. Here it is in case other people want to add it to their phones:

Once I have my car I'll think start adding other routes.
