Japan - Shipping and Delivery

Most the place I asked is about 1M JPY ish… not sure if it’s worth it though ..
My friend told me that he did PPF all over the Exige cup (without roof), and it did cost around 600 thousand yen =60万円 for easy reading.
Emira has roof, so it may cost around 1M as you wrote.
If so, bad news. 😇
I’ll choose to protect front-end and a bit of sides only.

Yes, but depends on the cost.
If the cost is way too high, I will wrap it up in white.
I’ll get some Christmas wrapping ready and hope my I4 will appear in time for Santa to carry it along 🎅

Here is one PPF provider in Tokyo with a good website (I have not been in contact with them yet), prices and other info. Would be nice if others who have experience with this company (or others like them) could post a “review”.

(reposted in correct thread)
Status in Daikoku: No change from last week. The lone Seneca Blue car is still on the lot. What is it waiting for? Is there a showroom that hasn't completed renovation work (to comply with the new Lotus CI standards)?

Cars that remains there can be regarded as “bonded”, and this will continue as long as the homologation process continues. This will of course also involve hands on work on this particular car in order to become compliant. However I assume that this work will be done by LCI after the car is released to their service workshop. I agree that it is curious that all the other Emiras have “evaporated”, while this “lonely one” is sitting behind👀

I noticed that several car carriers had docked into Daikoku today. One of them, the Martorell had left Portbury UK on Mar. 04 (I know, not Southampton, but the same country so pretty much the same thing from where I am) so with high hopes I dropped by.

No new Emiras today. Looks like it was carrying heavy yellow (not Hethel Yellow) machinery.

Why am I so invested in the saga of this lonely blue Emira?

Parked by itself in the middle of a giant lot, all alone... 😢

These are needed to dig the winding road for all the upcoming Emiras 🤣🤣🤣

Three more Emiras has arrived. (One is the lost child of the first arrivals)
Thanks for the update! At least 3 more arrivals + "Lonely Blue". Still more than 200 to go until mine...

I was thinking your order number is almost fastest in Japan! Hope your DV will come to Japan and will deliver soon. (In the original meaning.)

Heard from a dealer; the shipping is not in order by order number, so your Emira might come faster than others…

You also now see these appearing at Lotus dealers across Japan (since about April 22) as “exhibition cars”. Apparently none of them are registered for road/steet use. The red with upper and lower black-pack is in Fukuoka etc.

What I would like to hear (except the approved exhaust loudness) is whether the Emira V6 now has type approval for Japan, or if this is still pending (and in this case: WHEN can we expect them to be allowed to drive on Japanese streets/roads?)

It is currently awaiting approval.
While awaiting approval, they will be stored in the warehouse, but I assume they will be on display at the dealership since the warehouse is overflowing.
I think the parts will probably be ready for approval around May 20.
All vehicles on display at each dealer will be finished on or about May 20.
I believe that the cars will be returned to Tokyo on May 20, replaced with new parts, approved, and then delivered to all over Japan.
The dealer also said that the delivery will start from the end of May or June.
I was told that my Emira has already arrived in Japan.

Thanks for great 👍 information ‘forest’

Exactly as I have anticipated and hinted. But it is great to get this confirmed by someone who seems to have ‘inside information’.

Would be cool to know what those ‘parts’ are (I guess they have to do with catalyzer and silencer), but I will not push my luck 🍀🤣

Congratulations to you, forest, that your Emira has already arrived in Japan.

(I shall be really happy to see it after you receive it and can drive it around, - if you also live in Tokyo or Kanto-area👍)
