You also now see these appearing at Lotus dealers across Japan (since about April 22) as “exhibition cars”. Apparently none of them are registered for road/steet use. The red with upper and lower black-pack is in Fukuoka etc.
What I would like to hear (except the approved exhaust loudness) is whether the Emira V6 now has type approval for Japan, or if this is still pending (and in this case: WHEN can we expect them to be allowed to drive on Japanese streets/roads?)
It is currently awaiting approval.
While awaiting approval, they will be stored in the warehouse, but I assume they will be on display at the dealership since the warehouse is overflowing.
I think the parts will probably be ready for approval around May 20.
All vehicles on display at each dealer will be finished on or about May 20.
I believe that the cars will be returned to Tokyo on May 20, replaced with new parts, approved, and then delivered to all over Japan.
The dealer also said that the delivery will start from the end of May or June.
I was told that my Emira has already arrived in Japan.
