If you take a look at the Lotus GB website, you have the base price listed. You can configure some features which are included in the first edition. Price is a little bit higher for the V6 as for the V6 First Edition.

My car configured in the GB configurator comes to 91,095 GBP = $120,587.92

I thought so too on first glance but this is probably not correct. The price shown for "Emira V6" is higher than for a the i4 FE, which is fully loaded. Also, when you go though the options for Emira V6 on the UK configurator, they are exactly the same as what the options were on the FE. These are not the options for the base edition (i.e. wheels, no extended lower black pack, etc). This seems to still be the FE pricing and options. On the US configurator, it says "Emira V6" with no pricing, but a different (and extended) list of options. I have built my current order also on the UK Lotus configurator for both the I4 & if I had ordered the V6 Auto for kicks and giggles. I will post both prices…. But one also has to understand that VAT had been included in the prices for the UK market. Prices did go up regardless of subtracting VAT.

I’m interested in buying an Emira in the UK - probably a v6 manual. Excuse the naive question, but what does an FE model have that a base car doesn’t?

Technically its not a 'base' car, its just an Emira, with (at first glance) a wider array of options to select from.
It just lacks a pre-bundled options 'deal' that the First Edition has.

given the number of orphaned Emiras, I think they need to be careful of not alienating buyers with a large price increase. I think most manufactures increase prices on cars year after year but it's usually very nominal.

I noticed that email didnt mention i4 base.

I agree with you on large price increase issue on orphaned Emiras. I should call to find out what it is.

Dealer did not say anything on the i4 base models......

They DID however update the following tho a little out of the topic

I inquired yesterday, Dealer said that he received the Sept report that shows my order locked and he hasn't gotten any further updates so far this month.
He sent an inquiry to Lotus to check as the Status has not changed from Locked,
meaning scheduled for production.

Who knows... I'll see if he gets a further update to me later today.

Things like VAT and shipping costs make it hard to just convert cost based on exchange rates. The best way to estimate cost from the UK config would be to first figure out the difference between i4 FEs equipped the same and see how the pricing lines out. from there you can apply that percent difference to the UK base v6. I'm at work now so I cant easily flip flop on a vpn. When I get home Ill see what I put together.

Based on the configurator the base V6 is not far off from the FE (driver pack, wheels, stereo, etc). You can configure them to the same spec as the FE. I guess the price won't be far off either.

Hope so ..I'm not rich.. Barely could afford before the price increase etc..

Just got an email. I don’t specifically have the VIN, but was told the car has been produced and I have a VIN and it should show up on the water in the next couple of weeks. Time will tell, but at least it’s some positive news.

I got the same message as well. I think it’s likely ours are somewhere in the pics of all the cars that have been produced and currently sitting waiting to go to port to ship.

Im still a long way off from getting mine but I received a build sheet for my base V6 today alongside an email saying my order is in the system. Are the build sheets from Lotus themselves? If so it looks like the books are reopened already. It shows the MSRP too which lines up with the new pricing sheet.

I just received this email from where I purchased my Emira. Hopefully, it would be helpful to you if you are considering buying one.

FE V6 Manual/Auto:
Production is complete. Cars (especially automatics) are still being shipped. But production on FE V6 is done.

FE i4/AMG:
Production is currently underway. Some VINS have been assigned and I believe the first cars will be put on ships soon. We might see our first customer car within 4-6 weeks. With deliveries most likely through the new year.

BASE V6 Manual/Auto:
Production begins in JANUARY. We begin order taking in OCTOBER. So please visit lotuscars.com to build your base V6. Pricing should be added to the configurator within a few days; I have heard that it is higher than anticipated. So if anyone is interested in getting in a FIRST EDITION instead, please let me know asap, as we have limited orphans.

A few dozen i4's arrived in US near end of August along with the first V6 automatics.

Currently my dealer said I'd have to pay the additional fees despite putting my order in for the FE.

Looks to be a 20K CAD increase (for my specs), not sure if I'm going to go through with the purchase after all these run arounds and nonsense they are putting me through

I am sure the increase will be spec dependent. Have you looked at one of the re-sale options? They seem to be presenting good value at the moment, considering no lux tax on pre-owned?

Yeah it's spec dependant, meant to include "for me" after the 20k increase.

Yeah, I'm looking into them but I would want one that aligns closely with the specs I want. So at minimum I would want the V6 and Ice grey interior. But I'd also prefer it as an automatic with the Hethel Yellow exterior.

The ice grey interior alone makes it harder to especially if I want an automatic, pretty much impossible to find one in yellow as well.
