Yep, I did see the 416hp on the Chinese version of YouTube “BiliBili”…. That is where I got that number. Lol…. . And I agree, a lot of this is marketing strategy. But it now seems more clear makes more sense. One just has to realize the FE was a bonus and not a “base” for the enthusiasts who put in orders almost 2-3 years ago.[I just thought for USA market the SE would be 416hp or something to that effect.]
DigDug, not sure if I'm imagining this.
Wan't there a picture(s) from a person with a Chinese car showing ~416 hp on the performance page of the cars display? (Fully aware the UI performance pages are rough calculations ).
Maybe another Lotus game ... not upset sales of the v6.
This will all come out once some 'Magazine, C&R, R&T' get's there hand on a 2024 Turbo and runs a 0-60. If they achieve better than 3.8s to 60mph the car has more than 400hp.
The extra 44 lb-ft of torque is what gives it the advantage in 0-60 over the V6. That's the one thing the V6 needs more than anything; more torque.Lotus Quietly Makes More Powerful Emira First Edition Available In America
Those buying the AMG-powered Emira will get more horses and pull for the same price.carbuzz.com
My 400hp I4 Emira (China version) showed 411bhp peak and 480Nm (not at the same time) last time I checked.Yep, I did see the 416hp on the Chinese version of YouTube “BiliBili”…. Everyone keeps saying this . . . except Lotus.I think because the V6 is getting discontinued
We all are speculating what Lotus might do and it’s half the fun. My guess, the “Base” Turbo will be 360hp, this will separate the SE from the base(Turbo). People seem to forget the FE I4 was special for Lotus enthusiasts and every spec which included the 400hp(at least for USA & China). I think this was not the initial intent to have the 400hp on USA models, but Covid and time constraints changed their working rollout plan. This is just my guess like anyone else.I think because the V6 is getting discontinued and the US and China I4 turbos are being upgraded to 400hps as of this year (My 400Hp i4 was must produced and is being delivered by Christmas). I think Lotus will just make all Emira going forward 400Hps even in Europe etc. Since the Turbo i4s will be the main engines after 2025. At least that's what I'm suspecting.
In historical terms, Lotus used SE to mean Special Equipment.SE = Second Edition?
I thought we thought that the V6 had gone as far as it would go and that higher performance variants would come from the i4?And this leaves room for a v6 based S or R in the future.
Only forum rumors and speculation. Turns out completely false.I thought we thought that the V6 had gone as far as it would go and that higher performance variants would come from the i4?
I have a build sheet from lotus for a base v6.Everyone keeps saying this . . . except Lotus.
In what way completely false? There isn't a higher performance version of the V6 Emira is there?Only forum rumors and speculation. Turns out completely false.

That there would be no more V6 production. Clearly they're keeping V6 production post first edition. In what way completely false? There isn't a higher performance version of the V6 Emira is there?
In which case we are talking slightly at cross-purposes. I wasn't saying when the V6 will stop. I was saying that the received wisdom was that the higher performance variants were expected to come from the i4. Hence the use of the word "expected" as it's a future event! Time will tell. So we are all agreed as it's currently just speculation about the future. But what it isn't is "turned out to be completely false"!That there would be no more V6 production. Clearly they're keeping V6 production post first edition.
Not yet. Considering the Evora came in a 410 and 416 it’s not a stretch. Lotus has not discontinued the V6. That was a rumor based on Toyota production shutting down that lineup. There are plenty of engines available for the near term given Lotus’ production capacity. In what way completely false? There isn't a higher performance version of the V6 Emira is there?
My lotus dealer was the one who told me this, I'm guessing Lotus won't make an announcement until Toyota starts to run dry the stock piles of this V6 engine.Everyone keeps saying this . . . except Lotus.
Whatever the reason, I'm just glad my i4 comes with 400 ponies hahaWe all are speculating what Lotus might do and it’s half the fun.
