That's cheap. Who was it with? The quote I got was A$7k for full SunTek Reaction
Well, even AUD$7k is only £4,000. Still good value compared with that UK price.

In the past, OziCozi was charging $4,500 for a full wrap of 2-door cars. Not sure if their prices have changed recently. Also, I would expect a higher price if the pre-cut PPF templates aren't available yet for the Emira so they have to be cut manually.

What are people's thoughts about SunTek Reaction vs XPEL Ultimate Fusion?
I hadn't heard of Xpel Ultimate Fusion until I saw your post. After a bit of Googling about it seems it is fairly new on the market. I've had a quote from a local PPF specialist for getting the car done in Xpel Ultimate Plus and he never even mentioned Ultimate Fusion. There seems to be mixed reviews in general for PPFs supplied with a hydrophobic coating, with some claiming it wears off fairly quickly and isn't worth the extra. I'm minded to go with Ultimate Plus as it is a well proven product, but I'd be interested if anyone else has a view on this.

Plan to do whole car PPF (Xpel prob). I was quoted $5k-7500 to do my 911.

One thing the Lotus Rep told me yesterday on test drive is that if choosing the factory PPF option the selling dealer arranges to have it done at the dealer or their own vendor to do it before delivery. Dealer installed option i guess.
I didnt really like the sound of that since they're probably making $ on that deal.
Not sure if that is 100% accurate but what I was told for the USA dealers. Curious if any other USA customers have been told that.

The Lotus rep at my recent test drive in (Bellevue, WA) said the factory does not install PPF for the North American market. He said Lotus are considering a provider that would install the PPF at the port, but the current plan is exactly as you described - dealer by dealer.

I am weighing up paint protection and would be interested in expert knowledge/ experience. I had a 1997 S1 from new which had dreadful chips all over the front lower clamshell so when I bought another S1 in 2016 I went for PPF on that area. The current car seems to have no chips or issues with the film which still looks good. So will an Emira get chips as per my S1 or has something changed in the production processes (both cars low to ground and exposed)? Also will PPF last well for 10 years and come off ok when it needs to (car will be garaged).

I’m someone more knowledgeable will come along how ever PPF will last a long time but does yellow, think I was told 5 years to replace.

As an Ex Elise owner as a minimum mine will have full PPF on the front and side, if anything paint has become worse quality and find more chips on newer cars than I ever did on my Elise.

There are actually different qualities of PPF. I'd pay more and go for the most durable.
Getting it off will never be a simple job and there will be a cost involved.
Best to do research based on the products offers and their actual workmanship.

The best companies will prepare the car better, removing all imperfections, before application and then finish off with a coating. Pays your money takes your choice.

I went to GVE London to actually watch and talk about what they do. Others will be similar but you can't go wrong with a perfectionist attitude and see the labour time they put into the preperation stage.

If it helps, here is the vid.

I am going with a full body PPF, with ceramic coating, including window and wheel prep.
There will be other changes but will wait until I release those in a video! :)

I've had PPF fitted to 3 cars now and it is definitely to be recommended, stops almost all of those stupid little scratches happening. You do need to get a really good experienced person to fit it though. There have been a lot of people getting into it as it's relatively easy money, only it's not if you do it properly as it then takes quite a bit longer. As to the actual PPF, go with the recommendation of your fitter as there are differences in ability to do a good job fitting them.

Hope that helps

It would be good to get a list of recommended providers in South East / Home Counties

Why not just pay the paint protect policy @£399 when you buy the car - covers 18 claims. Huge saving over cost of PPF.
If the ppf is dented the dealer you sell the car back to will have to peel off , re spray and then put ppf back on.
I just have the cars detailed and then wash very carefully - never had bad stone chips.

Hi, I've moved your post from the new thread you started into this existing thread. You may find useful info by reading back through it. The thread was originally called "PPF", which made it harder to find using the forum search function, so I've renamed it.

Saw this earlier today too! Really cool video and I was impressed with just how detail oriented they were by sliding out the headlights to properly wrap the PPF over the edge. I never realized people got PPF on their windshield too. I guess that makes sense though!

Ummm… I can understand ceramic on glass, but PPF? Won’t that start to dislodge/bubble after the wipers have rubbed it a few hundred times?

No more than it would with a few hundred washes on the bodywork with a pressure washer!

Don't think that windshield PPF is the same material as body panel ppf, it's likely going to be much more scratch resistant.

Apparently it's pretty common and protects a bit against small rocks and debris that could potentially cause chips or cracks.

There is a good video on YouTube about a gent that tested a few and shit the windshield with a BB gun. I was positively impressed, other than the $$$
