@Wolfram that's a hack job. Doing corners require just a little patience and technique. Make sure to read many reviews and talk to the installer of your expectations.

I was asked about PPF on the last car I bought, so I asked to see an example. This was the kind of thing I was shown (not my photos, just similar example I found online):

My eye was immediately drawn to those edges... and I couldn't stand them. My mate's 911 Turbo is the same (it was already wrapped when he bought it). Is all PPF really like this? The car I was shown was worth over £200K, and I thought the PPF completely spoiled it.
Thats pretty poor. Yes there are areas its not possible to have 'no edge' e.g headlights, but any panel gap / bonnet edge, wheel arch etc good ones wrap the PPF out of sight so the 'lines' are kept to a minimal. Shouldnt be any on bonnet and wings really. I'd not be happy if thats what mine looked like

This is the kind of thing I've seen before as well, I know a guy with a couple of McLarens and the PPF on those has edges and corners like this. Does put me off a bit but stone chips are still worse

If anyone has any good leads in the DFW area of Texas for someone that can walk me through this process (educate, consult, install, service) I would love referrals please. Thanks!

Was there a PPF option on the configurator?
Does anyone know what PPF Lotus intend to fit, I spoke to a nice lady from Lotus at Goodwood about paint damage on Lotuses and she said the new paint system is much better and should be more resilient!!

My three year old A110 is getting full front and side PPF done right now, and then a full car ceramic coat. Had a 9H ceramic coat all these years which I topped up annually - served me well but had a clear coat failure on the front bumper (that Alpine luckily covered under warranty). So, decided to lock in PPF now.

It’s Xpel PPF at NVN London. Came highly recommended and I like the service so far. If it holds well, I will take my Emira to them too. Of course, best if Lotus offer that as an option.

I wonder if Alpine would have kicked up a fuss honouring the warranty if the car had been PPF'd before the clear coat failure.
Can you give us an idea of how much NVN charge?

I've had a price from Topaz and full car is £5400 but an extra £600 for the rear diffuser.

They're not the cheapest by any stretch of the imagination but I've used them several times in the past and the quality of the workmanship is second to none and because I'm really fussy about these things I'd rather pay more for the best job.

Lotus are looking at options for factory fitted PPF. It would probably be 3M Ventureshield or XPEL Ultimate - might even be a choice. Are there any other mainstream PPFs people would consider?

Strong agree... those edges showing would drive me absolutely bonkers.

Hopefully it's ok to post here, since this is a PPF discussion. I just learned about Cosmetic PPF. You get the customization benefits of a wrap, while the protection benefits of PPF.

Would be curious what others think. I'm seriously considering it, but it's a new product, not sure if I want to be a guinea pig. Still have a few months to decide.

Cosmetic PPFs have been around for a few years, it’s just seeing some product innovation now.

Interesting... there doesn't seem to be a presence for this brand in the UK, but perhaps one to look out for over coming months 🤔

In the Atlanta area, I'm driving my Emira straight to Atlanta Ceramic Coating and PPF Specialists upon delivery.

These guys do a proper PPF job.

Hi there,

I want to warm up this thread again with a (potentially controversial) idea.
I have decided to PPF my Emira all around with XPEL. I am already in touch with a company here in Germany that is offering PPF. The guy I talked to was already taking measures from the Emira (at Komotec) and is ready to make specific offers (I'll keep you posted once I have more info).

My Emira will be Hethel Yellow with full black back. After having starred at a Seneca Blue Emira with full black pack for about 5 minutes at the Komotec dealership my eyes swept over to an Exige with a carbon roof standing next to the Emira. The I started to wonder whether I could/should wrap all the glossy black parts of the Emira with Carbon fibre PPF and the rest of the car (the yellow parts) with regular transparent PPF.
I brought up the idea with the above-mentioned PPF guy and he confirmed that there is pretty high quality Carbon fibre PPF (glossy only since matt is not very durable and not self-healing like the XPEL stuff).
Now I am wondering whether I should wrap my car all around with transparent PPF or wrap the glossy black parts with carbon fibre PPF. I also have the Diamond cut wheels which have a dark grey tone which I thought may go well with carbon fibre optics. I also think that some of the glossy black parts look a bit cheap, e.g. the air intakes behind the doors. I will be receiving a Carbon fibre PPF sample soon and I'll share a picture of it here as well then.
I am interested in your thoughts and opinions on this. Maybe someone has already created a photoshopped picture of how carbon instead of glossy black paint would look on the Emira (preferably on a Hethel Yellow one ;))

Only one thing worse than fake carbon parts and that's fake carbon wrap!
All in my humble opinion of course 😇
Edited to add: I do have it on my Yaris roof and it upsets me on a daily basis (especially as there is a carbon roof underneath....)

I believe XPEL have already laser scanned an Emira and have created the templates for the PPF kits. I was told this by someone at Hethel.

Will Xpel be offered by Lotus ?
