Porsche announces new manual 911 T, looking pretty comparable to Emira (sub 100k before options)

but surely the US dealer will mark up the first T's also....
I love a 911, but in terms of fun to drive..... a T is not a gT3 by a long way is it.... turbo engine....wide heavy....
Each to their own... I dont think I am too tempted by the T.. to answer lotustorontos question, I think I'd prefer a spyder NA engine...
So I called four Porsche dealers in the southeast and all four said there were no “you have to be someone of note or have spent $1-million with us to have any chance”. In fact, all dealers said I would be in the first five for a T. I then asked about ADM, and all four said no ADM. However, three of the four said there is a mandatory dealer PPF and/or ceramic coat fee between $6k to $10k. To me this is ADM. The other dealer only adds a mandatory $1500, but it’s actually a fee for the first two years of maintenance (which is fair). Better, I told him I was undecided between a T or S, and they put my name on the list for both - with a single $2500 deposit good for both. They said I can decide later based on availability/timing.

And with regards to timing, between 12 - 24 months. Thankfully Lotus has prepared me well for this!

So order in on a Carrera T but plenty of time to tweak it. Dealership says expect 2 years especially w Aerokit (Wing). They say it will be a 992.2 which no one knows what they look like (hoping will improve). My build was $135,800. No ADM. Another iron in the fire.

I put down my Emira deposit July 2021. Friday I asked lotus dealer to return my deposit and I am going for a Porsche 911 T estimated delivery March 2023. I have had a deposit down on a 911 prior to announcement of the T. Day the T was was announced I contacted Porsche dealer and am currently #2 at MSRP.

It has been such a weird and long road to get my next car and it is not over yet. I really wanted the Lotus but going with the safe choice that I know I will love. I look forward to seeing someone in an Emira on the road in the wild such great choices we have amazing cars.

Good luck to you. I have 911T deposit down too (been told May ‘23 for UK car), but have left Emira deposit down for time being. Really torn, I know the 911 will be a great car, and could probably happily keep it for years, but still feel the Lotus is an itch I need to scratch if you know what I mean! First world problem I know ….

If I give you her number, please would you call my wife and explain why this is the most sensible course of action!
I'd be happy to, but caveat emptor and no warranties expressed or implied. :ROFLMAO:

On the UK site it says the Carrera T does...

Performance
Top speed
181 mph
Acceleration 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h)
4.0 secs

And on a YouTube video I just watched said the PDK would do 0-60 in 3.8 second's.
KM here in Canada, so the times I quoted would be in 0-62 MPH

I agree, the 718 Spyder is the more focused fun car. The T would be the best daily/fun 911 for a reasonable price. If I needed a daily sports car that was fun, I would take the T. Weekend fun car the Spyder/GT4.

I really hope the Emira is a bit more special than the 718 N/A 6's, at least in driving dynamics and lower end power. Those 6 n/a engines are great after 4,500 RPM, but feel a tad sluggish under it. I will say the Emira production spec cars I have seen look a lot better than the pre-prod cars in fit/finish and probably better than the track cars at the experience centre.

Somebody weiged an emira at 1480ish kg, as you say the t will depend on spec but with carbon seats and brakes should be 1420 ish.
