Porsche announces new manual 911 T, looking pretty comparable to Emira (sub 100k before options)

Carrera T - manual - Carbon buckets. That's all you need in that car. It would be the least grand touring apart from a GT3. Get it in black with the grey accents.... beauty!

@Leonard would you take a 718 Spyder or the 911 T if they were the same price?
My configuration is green! Or blue….

But you are right. Anything more than your spec get frivolous quite quickly.

My plan was Emira, then back to a 911 as a forever car until I croak it. But it’s looking like the last pure gasoline 911 is going to arrive sooner, which upsets my chronology.

911 will last 30 years as a daily. Not so sure about the Emira.

Just specced my t 108k no carbon seats available at moment or carbon brakes or bose hi fi lots of bits not available at moment. Not sure how many t dealers will get next year though?

Although you’re right about Porsche residuals, in the states, the Emira base shouldn’t come anywhere near the price if the T. I read it starts at 112k us; that’s probably 30k more than the Emira.

Wish I could stomach the additional cost but I can’t see that happening.
My Carrera T Spec came in at $136,140. My guess is an Emira Base V6 optioned close to an FE will run $115K in US (What's your guess?) Would you pony up an extra $20K for the Porsche? (Plus I have a sneaking suspicion my Lotus dealership is going to spring an 11th-hour ADM that will close the gap even further)

If the difference is only $20k, that’s mighty tempting…..
in the UK it’s way bigger a difference. It does look a very good drivers car.

Boom….. Same as mine but I went with the Ice Grey Metallic 😍🥰

I didn’t like the wing from some views on the configurator but when I saw one on the street wow 🤩 proper looker.

Porsche is classy😎

I think the interior alone is worth the 20Gs, the Emira interior is a glorified Tesla lol

I'd take the T Itbwould be the better car.
Only thing stopping me with the T is the price. 110k compared to 70k for a 981 Spyder which is my preferred choice

But at least you can personalise it. There are going to be a lot of identical Emiras out there. And don't even get me started again on not being allowed the TDC steering wheel stripe on a manual...

Strong disagree. Maybe the base spec Emira interior is lacking, but the FE is simple yet beautifully tailored with leather, Alcantara, deviated stitching, and led ambient lighting. Not to mention wireless charging and it actually supports Android Auto.

There will be rioting after waiting th

My dealership says 14-24 month wait on any Carrera. More time to save...Hopefully Lotus comes thru first at a reasonable price. Emira is still my first choice if priced reasonably

My dream car was always a P911 and in some way it kind of still is. The Emira stopped me in my tracks and rather than a £50k used C4s switched to the new car and justified the extra £20k or so. I have done the config game with the T but it comes out at £110 which is too rich for me but I keep looking longingly at used 911 GTS’s for around £70k and 570s’s(bit too much and scary stories) but right now the Emira is keeping me true even as an i4 deposit I have probably 9 months still left to wait. If I had more confidence in the second hand market I should get a GTS in the meantime but I don’t

Emira V6 FE
6.9 APR
OTR £83,000
Deposit 20k
24 month £750
8000 Mpa
Balloon 53k

Porsche Carrera T
6.9 APR
OTR £114,000 with 10k options
Deposit 30k
24 month £950
8000 Mpa
Balloon 72k

Potentially get a better deal at 36 or 48 months.

Yes the Porsche is another level but if you have anther 10k sitting around and don't mind slightly higher payments then I think the Porsche is worth a look.

Emira is still better looking thou.

I really hope the porsche isn't another level, as I found the 991 GTS incredibly dull!!

If the emira doesn't float my boat after the test drive, I'll probably go 18 plate vantage

Wow I had no idea the GTS was dull! When I think of Porsche I think everything drives like my 79 930. Driving the 930 was a thrill ride and raw. Kind of like wrestling a gorilla. Have all modern Porsche become dull except GT3? I did track a GT3 in Vegas and it was amazing.

This sort of practice will continue unless people are willing to immediately lawyer up. Last-minute surprise ADM is a complete "F you" to the customer and should not be tolerated by anyone, ever.

Sadly, the only tool at a US buyer's disposal when confronted with "unilateral renegotiation" for a special order product like this, is to inflict legal costs and headaches on the dealer until they are willing to complete the transaction ethically.

A gt3 is nothing like a gts though!

I’ve had a palmer sport jp3 on a track a few times and it was amazing

The gts was refined, relatively fast and comfortable… but a detached and uninvolving drive… the interior a little staid. Got back in my old model vantage and grinned from ear to ear on the same roads

but surely the US dealer will mark up the first T's also....
I love a 911, but in terms of fun to drive..... a T is not a gT3 by a long way is it.... turbo engine....wide heavy....
Each to their own... I dont think I am too tempted by the T.. to answer lotustorontos question, I think I'd prefer a spyder NA engine...

I had to google Palmer sport. That looks like a thrill ride!
