New guy here. I'm curious about the Emira, and I'm not an owner yet.

Does the factory radio/audio system have a SD card reader for music?

Thanks!

Out of curiosity, why are you wanting to play from an SD card rather than your phone?

No SD card slot for audio, there are two USB's inside the center armrest, keep in mind the clearance is very low, so you will need a smaller flash drive or one that pivots

Forgive me, but a small SD card reader into that USB port will allow mp3 music to be played?
I usually keep my songs on my phone, and there's built-in wireless WiFi, so no need to plug anything in to play music. As Davebeats says, if you put the songs on a stick, you may not be able to close the lid on the armrest.

Good to know. Thank you!
Correction and additional!

I tried quite a few cables and that one from Amazon wasn't quite right.
I think it fitted but was tight and awkward.

I use this one instead where the 90 degree angle goes the other way:
Right Angle USB C to USB C Cable

Secondly, when using a low profile USB A type stick that will show as USB device 2 in the Emira's media selection, and it's a pain to always have to select that because USB device 1 (the C connector) is always the default.

I use this 90 degree USB C to A adaptor so that it shows as the default device 1:

Neither usb ports in the console work for me since it came back from the dealers. 🤦🏻‍♂️ 'It might be a fuse' they say.

I have an SD card with 30GB plus of music connected via USB within the armrest console. Everything works, but the Emira player sure could be better. The largest issue is that it takes 4 to 5 minutes each and every time you start the car for the built in player to index the files. This indexing issue leads to the player being unable to pick up where you last left off. In the end Android Auto is simply a far superior solution for the Emira (despite wireless connectivity issues discussed in a separate thread).

Some good news to report on the infotainment system post software updates received at my annual service. Lotus seems to have addressed the issues associated with playing music via an SD card. It now seems to keep the previous index and more importantly you can listen to music right away (it even picks up where you left off on a song).

Id be happy if my armrest USBs worked 😂 Hopefully the update will sort it.

That I have £50/$65 android headunit in my daily Toyota IQ/Scion that can play music within seconds and remember what was last played is a poor reflection on Lotus/Geely/Link & Co.

That is good news.
One thing though, does it remember which USB port you have your music drive plugged into?
