UK deposit to order checkout to delivery process

Ive just been through checkout process
ordered 10 july
is the fixed price service worth it?
I just went for paint insurance.

Still waiting with a morning of the 9th deposit

We must be all in the same dispatch of emails also the 9th of December here. Original deposit was the the 10/7/21 …

It's been very variable on timing. If they've said March build then the timing of the Enhance/Protect options email does fit with that.

You'd expect to get the Checkout email next, probably sometime in March and roughly 30 days before delivery. But so far delivery has been 3-8 weeks after Checkout and very little pattern to why some are quick and others slower.

Hopefully as they get things bedded in it will become more predictable.

This Finish Line email seems to be a new step in the emails as some kind of holding message between E/P and Checkout. I'm not sure it's linked to a stage in production, but possibly when they are able to confirm it will go into build next month. Then Checkout once it's actually in build.

My build was estimated for the middle of Feb so I called them today and they said it meant it was in production, the checkout wouldn't be until the car has passed pdi

That's useful info, thanks. Previously they'd issued the Checkout email while cars were in production but I guess they're now wary of cars getting held at PDI after someone has checked out. I know at least one person on here is in that situation, still waiting many weeks after checkout and being told their car is awaiting a fix for an issue found in PDI.

This should mean delivery will now get scheduled more quickly after people complete checkout. Something to bear in mind if you need to sort funds or sale of a current car between checkout and final payment.

I received the identity check email and went through the process and submitted on 14th Feb. I've not received any confirmation since. Have other people received confirmation of identity check process being completed?.

This is different for everybody and can be affected by colour, replacement parts, delivery date and how fast you pay the invoice.

My dates were:

Ordered: 21st May 2021

Checkout: 16th Dec 2022

Finish Line Email: 22nd Dec 2022 (This says " we will very soon be offering you the option of a number of dates for delivery or collection")

Extra: 8th Jan 2023 (specifically about my number plate and proof of retention)

Agent: 7th Feb 2023 (Bell & Colvill send me notification car will be available for collection on the 15th Feb)

Invoice: 8th Feb 2023 (Took me 2 days to sort out the payment 50k + 30k)

Agent Arrival: 14th Feb 2023 (car arrives at B&C)

Collection: 15th Feb 2023 (car passes Agent checkover and I collect it)

My car's in PDI but I haven't had an invoice yet. They told me I'll get it after PDI.

I’ve just had the protect and enhance email. Estimated April delivery so hopefully that works out about right
