USA/Canada Delivery Thread

I e-mailed my dealer here in NC asking for confirmation as well but with this level of specificity, it's hard to imagine it's fake news this time around. Excited, but crossing fingers :)
Please let us know what Shawn says, I stopped by last weekend…….I do not want to inundate him with extra emails……

My dealer in Bellevue confirms that Emiras are on the way.

"Should start arriving in 3-4 weeks…. The first ones are already on the boats…."

That's some good cherry picking hindsight. I am glad you turned out to be right, of course, but there was a lot of conflicting and uncertainty to the information being shared.

There is still a lot unknown about the current situation. We don't know if all 700 cars have been produced. I hope that they have, but do you trust a dealer's claim on this?

This is not a pissing contest, we are not in middle school.
First, it was not hindsight. What I predicted before and what people are receiving from Park Place are consistent, not contradictory. And I just analyze what members are reporting from concrete evidence. Scott's email, azlambo and migz's factory visit reports, and VL3X's screenshot from the production line. How is that cherrypicking?
I analyzed information and shared what I thought made the most logical sense. You can doubt everything, and as I said before you are entitled to your skepticism and your opinion. Thus, I have no interest in debating with you.
I thought we ultimately wanted the same thing, which is to get the emira as soon as possible. But now I doubt that you may ever want the emira to be delivered to the US.

Well, here's another one of those news that should be taken with a large grain of salt. Someone reported that those finished US FE 1.0 at the factory lot have been sent to the loading port and may even be on an outbound freighter already. So whomever managed to get the shipping manifest from freighters with Emira onboard passing through US ports a couple months back should go work your magic again and see if you can find large quantity on Emira on US bound freighter with Lotus USA being the recipient.

I hope this news is true. Maybe a few of you early FE1.0 will get an Emira for Christmas.

I emailed the 'customercare', 'inquires', and the lotuscars usa email addresses in the last two weeks to ask if any customer cars have been built. Not one response. Would be so simple for them to reply with good news or confirmation of something positive for once. They could have an intern simply compose an email with a pic showing NA Emiras loading on the boat or in the parking lot. Anything.

Will these cars, assuming they arrive in Nov/Dec be 2023 or 2024 cars?
or does it depend on state

It was said earlier by Lotus that NA market cars will start with MY24, but it's unclear when MY25 production will start. EPA controls this based on production. A model year must include Jan 1 of the year. So a 2024 car's production must include at least Jan 1, 2024. This means MY 2025 cars can only start on Jan 2, 2024 - but whether Lotus does so is up to them.

I often see this question asked, don’t have an answer for you — but i’m honestly just curious as to why it matters? Is there some sort of advantage for an earlier or later year?

I think it can slightly impact resale value as the perception is that it's "newer". Can't think of another advantage.

That's incorrect. For a 2025 model year it must be made by January 2024. Porsche does its MY change in August.. So 2024s have been rolling off the line for a while now. Lotus already confirmed that USA FE is a 2024 MY

Ugh... edit. Ignore my reply above. Misread your reply. You are correct. I need to not reply to post just waking up! Apologies for my error.

As somebody who knows nothing about this, just a guess - FE V1 & FE V2 to be 2024. After that 2025 🤷‍♂️.

Sorry, what? A 2025 car has to be made by January 2024? Where does that requirement come from?

I was guessing that Lotus is likely going to rush out the first 700 FE 1.0 as MY2024, and then designate the FE 2.0 as MY2025 as a way to "make up" for the price increase. I don't think it costs them anything to do this as long as the production for the FE 2.0 cars happens on/after Jan 2, 2024.
