It was a joke dude. Take it down a notch.I don't see anyone doubting what MIGZ has shared in terms of what he has observed first hand. The questions surround what we can infer from his (and others') observations in terms of the estimated scale of US car production underway. Let's remember that Scott's email *after* MIGZ's report claims that he saw his first US spec car being completed. The confusion that ensued among some of us was justified.
I do share the feeling of later is better with the Emira. Heck, at this point some of us in the Base camp may be able to simply roll over our deposit towards a sportier S/R version.I have 100% faith in what MIGZ reported from his trip to Hethel and appreciate the intel. Not certain many here agree with the sentiment of “thrilled that US cars have been delayed” though.
Exactly. And I was able to order a 911T which will be here in Jan. Will easily put 5k miles on it before I can even order a Base car.I mean the net positive for me is being able to pay cash versus financing it 2 years ago. I can bitch, I can moan, and I can complain all I want, but Lotus has saved me lots of money in the form of interest by delaying this vehicle.
I reread my post and didn't see any thing to be taken down a notch. I was simply explaining, very calmly and with evidence, in response to some provocative and inflammatory posts, joking or not.It was a joke dude. Take it down a notch.
I don't understand why you keep pretending that people don't believe what you saw… What happened to your optimism?hahah exactly
Its an optical illusion
I think this sheds some light - We require CARB as well.Does anyone know if Lotus are waiting on anything before being able to sell the Emira in Canada?
Yes but that's a 400/405hp I4 for the Chinese market from this video
I believe that is truei4 yes but the remaining configuration is the the same yes? You’re saying they gave China more HP?
Yes, Because there's some sort of import taxation that makes a V6 much more expensive than an I4 in China so very few V6 have been sold while the I4 will bring in most of the revenue. So they produce a 400hp for the Chinese market while the rest of us have to live with the 360hp at least until they stop production on the V6.i4 yes but the remaining configuration is the the same yes? Er, kind of... This page just says "Canadian and U.S. federal emission standards for various [vehicles] are closely aligned", and is written more from the perspective of importing US vehicles into Canada. It doesn't even offer specific guidance, just says "Enhh, if it was built for & sold in the US, you should probably be fine to import it into Canada", while still putting all of the onus on you the person importing the vehicle to ensure all the regulatory boxes are checked.I think this sheds some light - We require CARB as well.

Getting a drone in the air would be cool
I got that covered!
If someone confirms which ship its coming on and gets me a date, ill be there. Drone in hand!If you legit get a drone into the port and capture footage confirming a small fleet of Lotus (Lotuses? Loti?) that would, at least in my mind, put you squarely in the Lotus history books, indexed directly under "Legend".
In my eye, nobody can outpace Scott. He is still #1 in my book. He's such a gentleman that I even had a conversation with him shortly after the news broke.Right after Scott
