USA/Canada Delivery Thread

This just posted on FB from a showing at Lotus in Scottsdale AZ

..........." Was told by the Lotus reps that U.S. Cars should begin production in March, with first deliveries in June."
Having a dealer in AZ is going to be good news. I was a little concerned not having a dealer in state and then became more concerned as more than a few of the first cars are having issues.

I’m also first batch. But don’t have any hope of any official notification/ communication from Lotus
I’m also first batch - told in April ‘22 that my build was scheduled for January ‘23 (now) with a late Feb/early March delivery. My dealer has not heard anything different…yet. But I forwarded him the Lotus of Scottsdale image from this string, so he is reaching out to Lotus for more information.

You may be correct my friend. If there is any communication it will probably contain little in the line of concrete time lines for NA. Since Lotus USA reps were supposedly at Hethel last week it would be prudent of them to have their PR statement prepared and delivered by the end of this week. There’s always hope.

I'm starting to wonder if I should put down a deposit for a C9; it might arrive before my Emira...

At this pace... If they keep pushing the emira back... I'm just gonna buy me an NSX. U can have one for low 100k.... It shows the lack of customer care that lotus provides to their fans... I cannot imagine when u need a part to repair the car.. U might as well gonna 2ait a millennium for a replacement.

Here are are, Friday afternoon and not a peep. I know the dealers are trying to get info, I believe it is LOTUS at this point not pushing information out. My car was supposed to start production this month......anyone listening? Lotus? Hello? Any official comms? Ok fine, Ill pull my deposit for the Eletre and the other electric toy box you are putting out. I can speak with my money.

I finally heard back from a Lotus of US rep this morning after 3 weeks of no response and then attempting to escalate my concerns via CS yesterday... There's nothing exciting to report, but I got this info to share:

The FE cars will not have blind spot monitoring, they will have front and rear parking sensors and reverse camera.

In regards to production, we do not have an update we can provide at this time. We are working to provide an update soon and would recommend staying in touch with your dealer as you have been. The updates will be provided to the Dealer Network who will then communicate with the clients. We are also working on furthering our communications with clients as this was feedback from the recent Emira tour.

So yeah, our $100k 2024 MY cars will not have blind spot mirrors and there's still no production update. US production obviously didn't start this month since here we are at the end of Jan. with no news. At this point I'm confident we'll be notified of delays just weeks or even days before expected deliveries (just like what's happening to UK buyers). This is is not the experience I was expecting after saving for years and finally being able to achieve my lifelong dream of ordering a brand new exotic sports car.

I feel the same way…My build was supposed to be this month with delivery in late February/early March. My dealer is trying to get information from Lotus corporate, but nothing new.

Thank you for the update! Its a shame about the blind spot not being there.................sigh.

Same, they wont even contact my dealer back! WTF!

Same here. Im also a January build. I’m more disappointed with the process rather than the outcome. I can wait for the car if my expectations were better managed…

I do believe you. As the Emira I ordered was supposed to go into production in January, however I have heard nothing, and I have contacted the dealer multiple times and they say Lotus is blowing them off. What I time to be alive.

My sales rep told me this week that they expect to have 30 FE’s and 20-30 Bases in 2023. Take that for what it’s worth. 50 cars, maybe. Personally as long as they iron out the issues and get all the bells and whistle’s working, like blind spot monitors, I appreciate the rarity of the brand. Makes me feel special owning something that you can’t buy.

What I can't figure out is why Lotus HQ comms are so bad? Being a smaller brand with few dealers in the fold, there are not THAT many people to share info with for the North America market. I follow them on Instagram, and I see posts about every other day with bits and pieces about the Eletre... who ever is handling their social media would be a part of the comms team... They can't cobble together an email to send to deposit holders, or dealers for them to forward on? Its not a lack of people problem. They clearly have people to post BS on Eletre door handles and door cards...

Its sad to say that its clear the Emira early adopters are really, really, really low on their list of priorities. I get that the Emira is not the car that will make the brand tons of $$$, but like others here, it is souring me on Lotus all together. Which means when my Taycan CT lease is up, i'm not even entertaining a Lotus to replace it. I'd imagine that is what Lotus should be considering with every customer interaction... Not just the order on the books at present, but future orders as well. THAT is why Porsche (and others) consider that they are building brand loyalty with how a customer is treated/communicated with.

Lotus HQ have previously held Zoom calls with reps from every North American dealer. They have also issued emails to all of them. So we know Lotus have ways of briefing all of them at once.

It’s clear they have taken an active decision NOT to brief them about the latest situation. And it also appears the Lotus USA reps who were at Hethel recently are not allowed to provide any update. Maybe the update is “coming soon”.

That appears to be the case. A gag order to deliver the information. They will keep doing 90 day delays well into 2023 if they feel like it.

I have a degree in Business, specifically in small business management. And the first thing we learned was BAD MANAGEMENT FOLDS COMPANIES and steers customers aways. Its textbook how to ruin a company.

Maybe the news is bad…worst case they scrub the Emira. For me, I go get a 2020 Evora GT and drive it like I stole it or a 2019 McLaren 570S (0-60mph in 2.7. yes please)

Hear me out...the problems with the released vehicles are more significant than they thought.......90% of the owners are not on this forum.....they are probably getting serious reports of failure and need to remedy them. Seems like a lot of software issues, and US doesnt even have the equipment yet to troubleshoot/fix those issues.

Go ahead and scrap it, give me my money back so I can buy a viper and burn the tires off.
