USA/Canada Delivery Thread

That's what I've been preaching all this time. But people here rather stick to a compa y that doesn't even acknowledge their own failures. Like I said if they are acting like this now, I cannot imagine once you have a warra ty claim in your hands.. Horrible! Just horrible
You literally joined this forum on January 26th of this year. Please spare us the "all this time" narrative.

As soon as I get a confirmed C8 order acceptance I will drop out of the Lotus lottery.

GM is not my favourite auto manufacturer but for the last 2 years my salesman and GM CS have done an excellent job of keeping me informed of their status. I also know 2 guys with C8’s and they have had little to no issues with their cars.

If in a couple of years Lotus is still in business and making AND delivering exciting sports cars I will jump back in.

My deposit $$$ in the Bank of Lotus is gaining me ZERO interest and I have lost interest.
Pumped, what’s your c8 spec?

Anyways the only news out there is that Lotus is going public through a Spec soon in the stock market. Lol

Great, my sports car will be manufactured by a Kardashian approved handbag company. I guess at least the interiors will be nice.

I hate the whole SPAC concept. The track record is abysmal.

Tiffany Blue color anyone? I need a drink......

I spoke with my sales rep this week. He told me that I am looking at about this time next year for delivery - to be realistic. (I am an Aug. 2021 deposit - but not FE). Most interesting was that he told me to expect 7 new colors, and that the FE colors are likely to be "premium colors" on the base model. Also suggested Lotus will price base model such that virtually everything will be an option. Not sure this is new news to everyone else, but it was to me.

I'm in the same date range (early base situation) as you. There's a thread that says what the 7 additional colors are but not anything definite on what they look like...much less how anything else looks on the base. They've also removed the base model pricing from the configurator. I expect the base model with a few options on it to be over the 93k cost of a FE now.
Since Lotus cant seem to build cars smoothly now they should consider just extending the FE builds to base customers to streamline production. (less options to sort on the assembly line) Take the FE badging off to let FE customers feel special.
My dealer told me to expect to order around May and an unrealistic arrival date of the fall. No way Ill see the car until 2024.
Would be nice if they uploaded the base model configurator....probably soon.

There have been verification prototype cars in white, vivid red, and zinc grey. Cosmos Black shouldn't be much of a mystery. There was a photo a while back of a dark blue car with a "meridian blue" post-it. The mysteries are still Atlantis Blue Pearl and Osmium Silver.

And no, I have no idea why they would add 2(!) more blues and 3 more neutral colors, and still no orange/green/purple options. It would be great if I was totally wrong about the lineup.

Anyone else extremely concerned about the lack of communication between Hethel, Lotus of US, and US/Canada dealers? Is this how it's going to be when trying to get warranty work done? Serious question for those who've owned or still own a Lotus and had to get warranty work approved and completed at a dealership.... It'd be a nightmare to finally get my Emira just to have something go wrong and it sit at the dealership for weeks or months waiting on Lotus to get things approved and fixed.

No. The sales/delivery communication (or lack thereof) isn't the same process as getting warranty work approved. There is already a process in place for approval that's used every day. If you're going to worry, worry about parts supply. Will there be a proper US-based parts supply in place when cars are delivered?

Now you know what C8 Corvette owners are dealing with. Some are on their third transmission. Getting a C8 after canceling an Emira may be heading down the wrong path if you were to expect enhanced quality/reliability. Tesla owners know this very well.

I do worry about that, although as a Porsche owner, I've had to get a few parts ordered for various things on cars under warranty, and about half of those few parts had to come from Germany... so as long as they are put on a plane and not a boat, its usually a couple weeks all in.

With the current supply chain issues, it can take awhile. I had a new M2C sit at the port at Baltimore for a month while they slow boated a new wheel to replace one that got damaged in transport. That really tried my patience. Lets hope both Lotus US and Lotus Hethel will have plenty of stock!

Damn! Was the wheel damaged so bad that it couldn't be driven on? I would have just asked for my car and swapped the new wheel whenever it came in.

I asked the same thing, but they refused to let it leave port until it was replaced! I guess they felt they needed to deliver the car "right". I was irritated at the time, but the pain was soon forgotten when the car arrived. I kind of feel that way about the FE delivery. I'd love to have it now, but I know it'll be fine once I get it!

That's a good outlook! How was/is the M2 Comp? Those are fun cars, but I never owned one. Considered it but I have a love/hate relationship with BMW.

It's a really great car! Super comfortable, plenty of power and good handling. I'm not tracking much these days, but I did take it on a track a couple of days last year and it was fun with all the ESC turned off. I like it so much, in fact, that I may keep it for a little while after the Emira arrives just to make sure I'm comfortable in the Emira. I'm not getting any younger, though I'm sure the Emira will feel fine with all the power seat adjustments available.
